Hey there fello Patsfans,

happy new year to you all from Down Under.

I'm thoroughly glad to have discovered this board by chance in 2008 and have been happy to use it as a tool to contribute to my learning of the NFL, American Football and especially the mighty Partiots.

For the most part, I've enjoyed sharing my views and opinions and reading those of other supporters of our beloved Pats.

May it continue and I hope 2009 is fruitful for yourselves and all your families.

Most of all, here is to another successful Superbowl run to finish what was started in 2007.

Happy New Year Thread

It was a good year being a fan of the greatest sports organization in professional sports.

It will be a great playoffs, even though it sucks we are not there. As BB said though the guys need some rest, even though they probably would prefer the alternative.

It will be interesting in 2009 with all the rumours surrounding this team, and that in an of itself makes it interesting to be a fan..

Saw the unexpected (by me at least) emergence of Matt Cassel as a better than average NFL QB, a team that fought through extreme adversity, and NO spygate kinda crap pissing all over everything once the season started. The way the kids played in 2008 makes 2009 look VERY interesting.

I agree. Whilst ultimate success is measured by the trophy cabinet, this season intrigued more than the last 7 years or so.

Everything and I mean everything went against the Patriots this season.

Through injuries, through personnel meltdowns, through schematic errors, through stupid penalties, through the f*****g wildcat tripe, through some uncharacteristic Belichick brain fades, this team showed the heart of a lion and won out to 11-5. We were one penalty and the coin toss away from 13-3 with 14 players on IR and a backup QB who hadn't started since high school.

If that is what a bad year is, then I would be happy to see that for many years to come.

2009 has me mightily excited. So excited that I can't wait for the draft and camp to come around already.

Amen to that. Cassel/BB have me eating a ton of Crow for New Years. My new years resolution is to know that there is no one on the planet who knows as much about football as the man with BB on his grey sweatshirt. I will not question his decisions in 2009 ( lets see how long I can keep this resolution !?!)
