Doyel: Idiotic play cost Colts the game

The Colts were good. No, they were better than that. They were shockingly good. Better than they’ve been all season. Andrew Luck was throwing it, Frank Gore was running it, Chuck Pagano was coaching it. The defense was defending it.

The Colts were wonderful.

And then the Colts were idiots.

The Colts tried a trick play where a receiver plays center, a safety plays quarterback, and the rest of the punt unit stands as far away as possible. Like something smells bad. Like they’re embarrassed to be anywhere near what’s about to happen.

Like they're about to find a moronic way to screw up the most important game of the season.
