I don't think I see Belichick as the type who could "retire" and really walk away from football. He's given too much of his life to the sport. I think he'll die in harness personally.Happy birthday.
Heres where he starts up the line: there may be time to talk about that at some point. Lol.
I mean is Mr. No Days Off really going to take the rest of his life for himself? Doesn't make a ton of sense on reflection does it?
What I could see happening is perhaps as he slows down a bit, BB gradually moves upstairs, turns the day to day coaching over to someone else under his careful tutelage and focuses on the roster and player prep. So we'd see an assistant head coach who's the acting head coach and the playbook is still mostly Bill's until he trusts his protegee, whoever that might be.
