Why would buffalo deal him inside the division, to a team that is already light years ahead of them??? Unless we offer them a pick that is a full round better than what anyone else is offering, I seriously doubt we have a shot. And it's doubtful we're going to overpay for anyone, even Moulds. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not.

Javon Walker seems like the more likely option but I don't expect that either, between working out a trade, a new contract with Walker and not upsetting the payscale of existing player with that contract, we're probably looking at another Caldwell type signing and a second or third round pick unless we like, and can get, Holmes or Jackson in round one.

Branch, Caldwell, another low level FA, draft choice, Brown. Or maybe forget the second FA signing if they like Bam Childress enough to be #5.

Branch, Draft Choice, Caldwell, Brown, Childress. And Bethel if he's not traded.

Per Tom Curren in todays Pro-Jo, Moulds agents agrees with that assessment:

"The Patriots will have to keep the "Help Wanted" signs posted outside the wide receivers meeting rooms a while longer. Eric Moulds won't be coming to town.

Moulds' advisor, Greg Johnson , said last night that the Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles are moving more quickly than the Patriots to strike a deal with the Bills to land Moulds.

"It's not going to work out [with New England]," said Johnson. "The timing's not right. The only way it would get done now is if it falls apart with these other teams, and I don't see that happening.

"I know it would take longer to get it done in New England and these other teams want to know [Moulds' plans] and want to get it done quickly. I've got be honest with you, we'll most likely get it done in the next 48 hours."

Not happening....NEXT!!

Then I don't know what the F this team is doing. This is stupid, we could get Moulds and we're not making much of a push. BB and co. better have a good plan in store for us.

Mahv L. this morning said they definitely would trade inside the division. Now, it's a question of could they structure a contract deal to the Pats' liking. That's where it gets sticky.

No, 'stupid' is letting one 25 year old receiver go because you didn't want to pay him $24 million over five years and then turning around and trading for a 33 year old receiver that wants 15 million over three years. The draft picks aren't the issue.
