Scouting Report: Zoltan Mesko

Has the best name in the draft, and isn’t too shabby as a punter either. Will come in and start immediately and probably save a team a roster spot because of his kickoff abilities. Holds punts and punt average records at Michigan.

There are several teams in the league that carry three guys, so by drafting Zoltan Mesko they can eliminate the need for a Kickoff Specialist thus saving a roster spot. It isn't confusing some kickers and punters just suck at kickoffs like Jeff Reed for the Steelers or are too old which I think is the case for Matt Stover on the Colts.

Why are we talking about drafting a kick off specialist? We have one of the best kickers in the league in Gostkowski. Yes, he is an RFA, but I firmly believe a long term deal gets done between him and the Pats.

As for Zoltan, he stunk it up and made me wish for the days of Tom Tupa.... I'd much rather the Pats drafted Bowden than took Mesko..

You'll have to forgive Box.. He's using that old grandpa 15 in CRT that only does 640x480... Either that or he finally upgraded, but he's got a magnifying glass over the screen so he can actually see.. :rocker:
