Gruden says Drake is going to be a 5-star superstar, "everything you're looking for"

I may have missed it but I think we move from 6 to 5 in the draft as Cleveland won on thursday.

Don't forget hot shot WR's. The WR list is pretty deep this year. Throw the brinks truck at Higgins then grab either an elder statesmen such as Dhop, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams etc... or if you Godwin if you think the recovery is going to be there. Irregardless of the combo there is enough WR talent out there to make significant impact on our team.

Same with LT go hard after Cam Robinson. Budda Baker at Safety. And now you can take best player available irregardless of position if you want. Grab a sideline to sideline backer, a stud DT or Edge, etc...This team can be put in good shape quickly this offseason with the right moves. All eyes on you Mr. Wolf!

Sorry Colby, but I don’t want them going anywhere near the free agents you listed. This team should be looking for young players who are breaking out, not a bunch of 30 year olds at the end of their careers. They need to spend their money on fixing the OL, and getting young stars hitting their 2nd contract, like Javon Holland or Azeez Ojulari. The goal should be to build a long term contender, not a team that gets to the playoffs next year, but saddled with a bunch of contracts for guys who are toast.

the same post repeated EVERY time you post! What happened? Did Mayo once piss on your shoes.

Did you ever consider what Mayo IS good at. He's a great leader who players will follow even though the adversity of a losing season. The team IS competitive but like a lot of rebuilding teams they haven't learned how to win those games late. Sure, you can second guess some of his decisions. Some were clearly mistakes. But like Drake, Mayo is a rookie and will likely LEARN from his mistakes.

If the Pats remain playing hard and gradually improve, he not only deserves to be back, but he also deserves a public apology from the knee jerk mob that you run with here.
You're a Mayo apologist; I'm the opposite. There's far more evidence in favor of my position than there is for yours. I'm beginning to think we're not talking about the same coach, the way you talk about Mayo. But there's no point in rehashing this: you're a true believer. And if you believe what you've written above, there's no reasoning with you. It's like talking to a Scientologist. Mission impossible.

other things are involved in getting that kind of connection between QB's and WR, For the most part most of our WRs are young and unfamiliar with the pro game, let alone a rookie QB with 5 games experience. That kind of connection will be something to look for NEXT year and going forward.

I was dead WRONG about Maye's development. Based on what I saw in camp, I thought it would take at LEAST 10 games before he'd see him in a game. And even then I didn't expect to see the kind of play we are getting from as was pointed out in the Ram's analysis. Clearly he has cleared up his footwork to a greater extent than one would expect. But his accuracmnnmy and velocity when he goes "off platform" is FAR more advanced than we had a right to expect. Finally, his football IQ seems to be off the charts. He is reading defenses, recognizing post snap coverages as was pointed out in the Rams review, seem to be extraordinary.

Daniels is having a spectacular rookie season, IMHO, but given what we have both seen with our own eyes and been told by guys who are a lot smarter that we are, we REALLY might end up with the best QB of the 3, long term. Remember. The best ability is availability... And at 6'4 and 230, I think he is simply going to be going to bear up better in the long run than Daniels at 205. When he was drafted, we all hoped that Maye would be our future franchise QB. Looks like the future is NOW!

BTW- I think the most exciting thing McCoy said, was that Maye "elevated those around him". That is a rare quality and something to be excited about;
In a redraft, the Pats are likely sitting at #3 and deciding if they want to settle for Williams or trade the pick.

I hope that you're right. Budweiser made a business decision with Bud Light, and it cost them Billions.
AB also owns the Modelo brands, which grew during the boycott. That's the problem with these big conglomerates: voting with your wallet doesn't really work, because a handful of companies own everything.

Very true. People would have to research to find out who the parent company is, and even then, I don't know if it'll make much of a difference. However, for conscience sake, I will vote with my wallet on general principal. When these corporations do their quarterly earning analysis, the still can tell if they've lost money and how much.

Higgins is 25. Godwin is 28. I wasn't saying add a bunch of 30 year olds, but this locker room needs some more veteran presence. Everything about that WR room smells like **** and needs leadership along with talent.

A mix of the two is what is needed, IMO. You don't need to give any of the older guys more than two years. They have 140mil projected at this point. They have plenty of money to do what needs to be done all over the field. Not to mention a draft that could legitimately be a just get better by taking the best player on the board.

They can front load a lot of it especially for any older guys. But this team absolutely needs an infusion of leadership a few older guys to help, it is not going to hold them back in a few years if Wolf does it right.

And I'm not saying go sign every old guy to make a one year run. But remember what BB did his first year in NE. He brought in something like 27 guys mostly who played for him in the past to change the culture. I don't think that kind of overhaul is needed, but we need some leadership added to this team.

Kraft is a businessman and business men make business decisions. I think If Mayo loses out all bets are off. Drake Maye has generated a buzz: and I am sure the Ben Johnsons and Kliff Kingsbury's of the NFL world are taking notice.
That's right. Billionaires don't become such by not making business decisions.

Give me Higgins.. I know he has had some injury issues as well.. but Godwin has had at least 2 major season ending injuries I doubt he's the same player going forward . I'd even take a run at Diggs as well. The draft we should be addressing the trench OL & DL.

It's Higgins or bust for me. He is the youngest option, a solid blocker, and he has proven he can thrive as the #1.

I am also overspending on a bell cow RB (Nick Chubb, I'm looking at you).

After that, I want to see a couple of impact defenders - let's add DJ Reed, Dre Greenlaw, and some DL depth.

The draft can be all about tackles and edge rushers.

DJ reed would be a better option than what we have now opposite Gonzo.. my preference is Sneed or Alexander but they both have heft contracts and would have to be traded for.

Nick chubb is phenomenal.. the injuries worry me though. Yes draft is all about the line of scrimmage.. OL and DL.

They just need good players everywhere. I'd take an elite Travis Hunter over a not so elite prospect in Banks. They can't afford to reach for need in a weak draft class, just makes high odds of a bust. Just take the best player available at each draft slot, other than QB. If it is close, then go with the linemen.

This is the most important free agency/draft off season in a long time, it will make or break the teams next 2-3 years and the future of Wolf and Mayo are 100% determined by this off-season, though I hold out a sliver of hope they smarten up and at least dump Mayo.

The main thing this season is Drake. Having him play and gain experience is the best thing in this lost season. Outside of hunter I haven't been paying attention I really don't know who we could draft? But yeah we need upgrades all over the roster. Speed on offense look at Miami they have a track team.

Yeah, Waddle and Hill tandem makes it so difficult to defend. Tua isn't great overall but he gets to the first read and ball out as fast as anyone, and he's very accurate within the 10 yards he needs to be.

Which is why the idea of Higgins and 1 of the top wr's in the draft is enticing, but then the line needs some top end talent and doubt that comes from Free agency.

You need high end talent with speed not Tyquan speed with no release or hands.

So many holes and so few draft picks!

I just remembered that many DID do their research and turned to Yuengling, a family-owned business that does not support the woke agenda and just wants to sell beer.

Yes! Having 2 speed the outside makes all the difference. Smith has speed and that Miami defense will give problem to every team not named Buffalo. Higgins is definitely our # target. OL, DL,LB,DT,CB, WR.. feels like we need an entire team.

If I had a nickel for every QB he said this about, I would have Elon Musk money.
He is lobbying for a job
