Gronk - Where's the love?

Just go to NFL.com He's the front page story right now. He's getting the respect.

He should be mentioned in the MVP talks at least. I can't even turn it to a sports channel without hearing Tim Tebow's name and he's done nothing, he even gets more talk than the so-called best QB this year Aaron Rodgers and GB's undefeated streak.

The only time I hear anyone discussing Gronk is during a Pats game or on pre-shows where they have to say something about the Patriots, even then he's only mentioned as "the talented tight-ends" Which IMO is a diss to Gronk and his skill. When Hernandez stops dropping Brady's passes he'll be as good as Gronk, but right now he's not. He's still better than the other TEs in the AFC though.

Oh please, everybody doesn't have to be sucking our balls all the time.

Those that know and follow the game will know who #87 is.

I've got one beef with this whole he only tied the record for receiving TD's by a TE statistic. Who cares if a TE gets a TD via pass or run? All I know is he's broken the all time number of TD's scored by a Tight End ever with 14 TD's this season right (or did I get this wrong because some other TE's combined Rushing and Receiving TD's have been more than 14?)?

Why the distinction between Receiving or Rushing TD's by a TE?

He has the total TD record...he just doesn't have the receiving TD record. I don't see the issue. I guess it's just the history of the position(judged by receiving TDs). Plus there's no way in hell he isn't going to break it with 4 games left.

Not sure if it is a marketing ploy, but every week he is doing something regarding volunteering here in RI.. he is remarkably accessible and is alway smiling, he will become more of a legend than he already is..

A marketing ploy? How could you? The great Gronk is a charitable man... Just kidding, I wouldn't know.

If #87 retired to today no-one will know who #87 is, except us. That's why we need everybody on our balls.

Without the media sucking Rodgers' balls constantly every week, no-one would've considered him "the greatest passer in the game" or "the future of the NFL", no-one would even care or know what he's doing, he would just be another QB in GB with a SB ring.

I got Brees for MVP this year, but he ain't gonna get it because no-one is on his stuff, convincing the sheep that he's MVP, so no-one else is convinced, unless you are following his games.

People are on Rodgers because he is Playing QB out of his mind right now there is no question he is that good right now. That being said he is kind of a gunslinger and is due to have an off game

Brady is playing just as good but because of 2007 people are used to seeing Brady doing what he is doing.

If it wasn't for those to factors and Brees (along with Brady and maybe even Rodgers) with a shot to break the passing yards record he Gronk would be talked about as the MVP.

The Gronk/Hernandez combo is EVERYTHING that we hoped the Daniel Graham/Ben Watson combo would be.

If Gronk averaged 2.5 TDs per game from here on out he'll tie Moss' TD record.

Check out this story: Break It Down: Rob Gronkowski keeps on dominating – Audibles.

Gronk is definitely getting everyone's attention these days.

Nice breakdown, thanks for the link.

There doesn't seem to be a single cover player on any defense that addresses TE's like Graham or Gronk that tower over secondaries, with great catch radius and body positioning to block out defenders. In double coverage it often looks like they're swatting at kingkong, lol.

Rob commented in another post that TE's in general have been tough to cover in the league. why is this and what's the best answer to shutting down a threat like Gronk? Just curious
