Gronk likely to play vs Saints

Until I actually see him out there, I don't think he'll be playing. That's the stance I'm taking with with this situation from now on, unfortunately.

Gotta see it to believe.

Drew and Florio are thick as thieves. This is the one instance I would take that knob goblin's word as bible.

If he plays will he really make an immediate impact to this dreadful offense ,enough for us to beat the Saints?

The Only way we defeat the Saints on Sunday is if we Win The "Time of Possession" and "Turnover" battles. If we have many Three and outs with or without Gronk its going to get Ugly very early for our Patriots. The best way to defeat a High Powered Offense is to Keep em off the playing Field. Thats a tatic we have used against Manning for years when he was with the high powered Colts.

Oh for sure.

I'm just being overly superstitious about it. Since week 3 I've been saying he's going to play and he hasn't. So now maybe if I say he's not gonna play, he will play.

Also with a week off this would be a nice game for Ridley to restablish himself as our #1 RB. Gronk has been practicing over the weeks so I have no Doubts that he can step right in and have a monster game. We want to milk the clock as much as possible so as to dictate the pace of this game. We must be on the plus side in Third Down conversions to win.

What I find interesting is the bit about Dr. Andrews making the decision who was consulted on but not part of the operation on his forearm. Team Doctors/trainers give clearance to play typically so if true (big if), this does make me wonder about Gronk and his 'camp' trusting the Patriots team doctor's prognosis which if I had to guess stems from last year when he re-broke the forearm.
I just hope we don't hear quotes from Andrews that contradicts anything that has been issued by the Patriots like what happened with RG3 and the Redskins.
However, a rag like PFT and that weasel Florio or worse yet Borges will surely get a quote from a "source" who for all we know is the cousin of the drycleaner that Florio uses (no joke either).

I fully agree with critical importance of turnovers.

Time of possession? I think that has been shown to be a relatively meaningless statistic over the years.

I was just saying the less we see of that Offense on the Field the better for us. Drew Brees can pick apart any Defense its like watching a precision Tom Brady throwing on the other side. I have seen Brees play catch with our Defense in the past, this current one it reamains to be seen but I wouldn't put it past him.

Brees is the most accurate QB in the league and has probably the best offensive mind in the league calling his plays. If the defense can come up big this week I'll believe they are legit top 5 in the NFL.

Not necessarily him, but his presence alone frees up other players. Do you really see the Saints risking it and "hoping he's not ready"?

They're going to have to account for him, whether he's 100% or not. That alone means our rooks will get some more freedom out there.

And hopefully Amendola will be better this week as well. Either way, I'm just happy to have Gronk back.

hope his dad is ok with it

yeah, Gronk is going to make an impact just being on the field...the way to look at it is, think of Dallas without Dez bryant, think of Detroit without calvin johnson, think of denver without demarius thomas..

you take any team and take away their top receiving threat it is going to have adverse affects on the rest of the team.

and brady has been basically playing without his top 2 receiving threats...any offense is going to struggle when your #3, #4 have to be your #1, #2

plus, amendola should get improved snaps this week as well

lets hope the rookies can catch the ball sunday with gronk taking over some of the middle

I like THompkins/Dobson going against their 4th best defender like it was meant to be originally

Nice. An option in the passing game that can actually catch the football. The red zone offense should improve from here.

Two things, Brady has to improve his accuracy from last week for that two happen, and the pats have to get into the red zone in the first place - not an easy task against this saints D.

lets not forget, i'm expecting a better game from Amendola as well..he seemd abit rusty last game...but still lead the team in yards receiving on limited snaps..

finally, brady throwing to his #1 and #2 target instead of his #3, #4 should improve his accuracy as well...
