Pass offense: B
Run offense: B-

Pass defense: D
Run defense: C

Special Teams: A
Coaching: B

The pass d grade may seem harsh but they were atrocious. Way too close to the abomination that was the 2011 Pats pass D. Another performance like that in a month and they're one and done. Book it.

I know it's tough being undermanned but they need be better than they were yesterday.

On the bright side. Ghost and Allen. Day-amn. Sorry I doubted you Ghost at the start of the year.

I'll nitpick right here and say that I'll be pumped if the Pats get where they got in 2011 with this pass defense.

In reality though I do see the Pats pass D not hurting too much in the playoffs. Talib can lock down Demaryius Thomas/AJ Green/Dwayne Bowe. It's the speed demons he has trouble with. For players like T.Y. Hilton/Torrey Smith/Mike Wallace I would have McCourty over the top to help Talib. Couple that with Gregory getting healthier, Arrington being a top 5 slot CB in the league, and an improving Logan Ryan and I think the pass D should do fine.

The pass rush is a bigger concern IMO. We saw what happens when Chandler Jones draws a mammoth on the o-line (Joe Thomas in the Cleveland game) and it's not pretty. Ninkovich is a solid player, but he does have some streaks of inconsistent play. The DT position is a train-wreck right now. Soap hasn't done much, Siliga is the same, and Vellano/Jones are inconsistent. Someone will have to step up in order if they plan to get to a QB in January (and hopefully February).
