I'm of the opinion that the Rookie might very well end up accomplishing more than AV has or will accomplish; but I'm also of the opinion that we shouldn't of had to find out.

Its not like AV died or retired. He wanted more than he was worth, but he was a kicker which means overpaying him was still cheap when you think of the confidence he brought to everyone else. If overpaying him led to higher demands from other players, the team could have responded by saying:

"Are you the greatest DB, WR, ILB, DE (etc) in the history of the NFL? You agree you're not? Good then you should understand why we're overpaying the greatest clutch kicker in NFL history and why we can't do the same for you."

The Pats were penny-wise but pound-foolish when it comes to him and now we may very well be screwed.

The point is he had time to practice and warm up for the field conditions all week and last night. This is his home field. He is a professional, and should adjust to the conditions. The FG miss was inexcusable and IMO he got 2 strikes one more and hes out.

In actuality aside from the kicks I think SP did well tonight,We pinned Denver back all night don't blame Izzo/Davis and Co. I thought they were the best part of this team tonight - How many linemen are different from the one that Adam Kicked behind? - I am sure most of that unit is intact and much the same,I can't remember the last time when Adam had one blocked,It had to be at least 4 years ago to my recollection,I know hes gone but it has me worried about our 'close wins' now,will we be on the better end of them?..hopefully if things are turned around like bringing in another kicker for a tryout and see what he does,Maybe once Adam gets back in Indy Martin will be back on the wire?

His problem is correctable. It's the same as your not using paragraphs when you write.

It has to be pointed out and then spend time at practice working on the problem.

It's early in the season. The kid has a strong leg--did you see the opening kickoff? The problem is the coaching staff is coaching scared. Let the kid try those 50 yarders. You have to find out now if he can kick or not. You have to let him kick the 30 yarder at the end. If he makes it and the team loses, at least the kicker has his confidence back. The team coaches scared. As another example, Brady never threw to Champ Bailey's side. You cannot let the other team intimidate you, and tonight it looked as if the Pats were intimidated.

YES! Exactly correct. I couldn't believe they didn't try the long field goal last night with 1:30 left. Horrible coaching.
