Well, seeing as he one chance Friday night was his first chance ever, it's just as likely the problem was nerves as accuracy. [If he had missed, that'd be another matter altogether, but a dead duck that clears the goalposts is worth just as much as a line drive down the middle.]

The "dead ducks" inaccuracy can be a technique problem. Especially later in the season.

I voted for Gramatica. Although it's really really early, after friday night, I think he showed that at this point he is the better kicker. This front office doesn't care about that fourth round pick. If Gostowski isn't the better kicker, Gramatica gets the start fourth round pick be damned.

I voted for Gramatica.

Experience wins.

As of one preseason game, I keep both. I just don't trust either one enough to keep only one of them. Between KOs, short-, medium- and long-range FGs, and end-of-half/game situations, there should be opportunities for both of them to prove themselves. I am pulling for the Ghost, as I just don't like the thought of Gramatica in a Patriots Uniform.

Let me do PATSNUTme's job for him: Gramática cannot be placed on the practice squad. So either he makes the team or he goes home. In theory, Gostkowski could be put on--but the question then arises of if any other teams think they need a better kicker than the one they've got.

Me thinks you misunderstand. By "clearing waivers" I didn't mean going to the practice squad for Gramatica...

I was infering he would end up a street FA, available to be called back.

I think we should keep the one who's name starts with "G"

I have to say in correlation to my prev. posts that I hope we get Gostkowski-
it's a perfect story! He will learn to control and nail a perfect technique. I'm not a big Grammatic fan- though he's put on the big boy pants and executed well at practice so far and the game

It's been hard to evaluate the coming decision.
I really would like to keep both this year.
