I think Hogan has looked excellent in his preseason action and I do agree that he is not a slot WR he has the size and speed to be very effective outside.

Agreed. Amendola put his less than healthy body on the field last year several times when we needed him.

He doesn't deserve the "Glassmendola" moniker.

Glassmendola. I have some info for you. Amendola played more games than Jules. So why dont you call Jules, Glassdelman. And watch again SB win. Danny had some nice clutch grabs.

If we subtracted out games of the kind "He's not very good, but that's excusable due to presumed lingering injury", I suspect that the count would slightly favor Edelman -- but only slightly. He's had some dubious games too.

Let me tell you from experience you cannot bad mouth Amendola even if he fumbles the ball at the 1 yard line in the final seconds of a super bowl. You will become a tyrant and those who have an Amendola alert on their smartphones will come for blood if you say anything negative.

Keep in mind Amendola is a multimillionaire NFL player who dates super models, so he has a rough life and the least we can do on this board is defend and love him unconditionally.

Amendola and Edelman both have injury concerns, you could make the case for both of them being glass. Edelman is more productive when he is on the field so people are less likely to slight him. Hogan is a much bigger and stronger player who entered the league as FB so hopefully he can withstand the beating of the season a little better than those 2 and we can limit both their touches and keep them healthy for when it matters most.

We are a better team with Edelman and Amendola both healthy than just one of them or none of them, and that is without question and all that really matters.

So, back to Hogan...

I'm 'wait and see' on him. I've gotten my hopes up too many times about new receivers.... all the way back to 2002 with Donald Hayes to Ochozilcho and almost everyone in between.

The only ones that really panned out immediately were Moss and Welker...




...they were real and they were spectacular. LOL

LaFell, Vereen, Browner, C Jones, and Revis all contributed in that game and we are caught in nostalgia for any of them. Let's stay on track here and live in current day not 2 years in the past.

Hogan should be solidly productive even with the health of others but he, and hopefully Mitchell, are huge as insurance also, with the injury risk that Edelman is. When everyone is healthy we should see a good dose of Gronk, Edelman, Hogan and Bennett, but if Edelman goes out like last year we won't be stuck with the slop that we had to throw out there last year. Absolute worst case, and sorry for this image, Hogan, Mitchell and Bennett should actually be a viable trio if it comes to that.
