NFL News Giants trade DT Dexter Lawrence to CIN for #10 pick

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
I would prefer Brown on a 1/$29m than a 3/$75m deal with $40m guaranteed
Like I said, it could involve all sorts of playing time and health incentives. I didn’t say anything about guaranteed money.

Both players have arms
Both players have teeth
Both players… good grief
Both players have 10 toes.

Did you finally calculate that Dexter Lawrence was in his final year of contract ( as i have been telling you) and that its customary to negotiate in that year prior to the contact expiring.
The Giants were in contract talks because Lawrence was publicly grousing he deserved more money. Harbaugh stopped very quickly because it would set a bad precedent in the first offseason of his Giant tenure.
His contract did not exist beyond this season.
Brown didn’t “shoot his way out of Tennessee” genius… his rookie contract was up and the Titans GM didn’t want to pay him.
More ignorance.

Oh ya, Dexter Lawrence was in his final contract year too and guess what Einstein, Brown isnt attending the Eagles off season workouts either. But, do spin it that he isnt shooting his way out of Philly and didnt do the same in Tennessee.

  • Contract Negotiation: Brown skipped the voluntary on-field workouts, which began on April 18, 2022, while seeking a new contract, as he was entering the final year of his rookie deal.
So even though AJ Brown wants to leave because of Jalen Hurts inability to pass, money will be an issue because you say so… sounds legit.
Only a fool would believe that a player who has had money disputes is going to be happy on his 3rd team.
One issue was based on money, the other on style of play around him…. not the same.
The only reason why money is not an issue today is because Brown is due 29 mil in 2026 guaranteed salary. He will be the highest paid NE player if that stands and is not converted into signing bonus with NE adding more money so Brown is amiable to do the deal.

Well, you told us that the Pats do need any more starters.

This is a lot of talking and saying nothing. The years were irrelevant.

You said AJ Brown was grousing over money like Lawrence… he wasn’t.

“Well, you told us that the Pats do need any more starters.“

Is English your second language?

The year 2027 is not relevant now that it was all just an illusion that you dreamed up.

Both players got paid and still were not happy.

It wasn’t about money for Brown, Lawrence wanted more money. Stop deflecting.

Both players have issues over money and its not going away because youve suddenly become a AJ fan.

AJ never asked Philly for more money, you’re creating a fictional scenario because you’re wrong.

He shot his way out of Tennessee and Philly gave up draft picks and the money that AB Jr wanted.

Just like Dexter Lawrence.

Tennessee was up against the cap and the GM didn’t want to pay Brown. His rookie contract was almost up, so they traded him to a team with cap space to pay him. He didn’t shoot his way out, he was a top receiver in the NFL and earned every penny. The Titans GM was a tightwad, Vrabel didn’t even want to trade him.

His situation in Philly has nothing to do with money, he was complaining about the passing offense being poor the season before last.
Just like Dexter Lawrence.
Dexter wants a raise, AJ wanted a trade and it wasn’t about money. Apples/oranges.

You just conflated the two because you are against the AJ Brown trade, somehow he’s too old at 29, but the Pats are desperate to find a #1 WR because they cut 33 year old Stefon Diggs.

You can’t even keep up with your own biased nonsense, or explain how it makes sense.

I disagree
Brown complaining about the offense and the passing game, because it is hurting his numbers, which will cost him on his next deal.

I don't see Brown getting 120-150 targets in a McD offense
I don't see Brown putting up big numbers with the Pats
he wont be happy with 800-900 yards, 90-110 targets
it's going to hurt his next deal

Brown is playing to get into the HOF now, a couple more great seasons and he’s a first ballot guy… another ring cements that. He’s banked almost a hundred million dollars.

You’re just following the Rkarp playbook… no matter what Wozzy says, no matter how logical…. disagree.

You will never get anywhere with Woozy.

He is convinced that Brown is a model citizen and that Diggs was not a starting # 1 WR.

Brown made unreasonable contract demands in Tennessee and refused to attend voluntary workouts. He is pulling the exact same shenanigans with the Eagles and they opened up the bank vault and paid his axx. Phiily will get slammed with dead money cap hit and that's why he will cost a 1st round pick.

Dude is a cancer who will pull the same crap in NE because his next contract will be his last.

1st ballot hof?
thats laughable, even for you
Brown has had 2 seasons of very good, not even great, counting stats
2 seasons!
the past 2 seasons have been in a decline for counting stats

Diggs was the most least impactful 1,000 WR I've seen in the last 25 years for the Pats. There's a reason he's still unsigned. His best fit is with a team where he could be the #3 option.

I don't care for AJ Brown either. Ship sailed since 2019.

This is one idiotic trade by Cincy. It's always bad organizations that make these random trades way after the fact.

He’s gone over 1000 yards in 6 of the 7 seasons he’s played. He does that for three more seasons and potentially wins another ring he’s going in the HOF.

Hard to determine if anyone is first ballot anymore since it’s clearly a joke how they decide, but he’ll be in the upper echelon of producers at the WR position. This is why he wants to be in an offense that passes well, why he was complaining about Hurts sucking the last two years.

The last two year Devonta Smith has had similar dip in production, are they both getting old at the same alexact time… or could it have to do with their QB that Brown has openly criticized?

within 1 hour you went from a 1st ballot HOF to now "hard to detirmine"
get a grip and think before posting. please

correct
Brown is watching his stats decline
he understands as his stats decline, his next contract will also be lower
Brown wanting out of Philly is all bout stats/contract

that said, why here? in this offense, he is not getting the stats to inflate his next payday

now that you are acknowledging you have no clue about contracts, perhaps you should sit this one out
