Thats so sad to hear! He was such a strong player and I'm sure he worked hard to come back, it's too bad he's had this setback. I'd agree he'll probably hang them up after this.
 
At the point in the season that the Giants picked him up, I don't think he expected his phone to ring and wasn't really prepared to step in, without any pre-season or exhibition games and compete at a pro-level

I don't doubt he was ready earlier in the season, just that he was realistic

He never counted on the Giants being so desparate that they'd consider bringing back a 40-something player as well as him.
