'these remarks left a bad taste in my mouth, because all of a sudden, it is open season on Cam Newton,” Bayless said. “And it’s because Bill Belichick cut him, so all bets are off, let it fly, come one, come all, line up to pile on with every little bit.

“I have no way of knowing whether this is true or not, but it seems a little overstated, a little exaggerated that Mac Jones was teaching Cam the playbook after Cam was there all of last year. I’m sorry, I don’t think Cam’s an idiot

.”Bayless also took things a step further Tuesday while questioning Ninkovich’s report, pointing out that it reeks of the old, baseless stereotype that Black quarterbacks struggle to grasp the mental aspect of football.

“What rankles me, what gives me pause, what, frankly, in the end horrifies me is, are we creeping back into Black quarterback syndrome — where, ‘oh, the Black quarterback doesn’t have the mental capability that the white quarterback has,’ even the young 23-year-old straight out of Alabama,” Bayless said. ” ‘He can’t process as quickly as Mac; Mac just absorbed it and then in meetings he’s having to teach it to Cam, who’s only been there for a whole year.’ It’s just hard for me to swallow that. I don’t like the echoes of that. Because I’ve lived through it, you’ve lived through it, we’ve come a long way in this regard. And all of a sudden, it feels like we’re taking a step backward.”
sure, make it about racism. What the heck is wrong with people.

I'm not so sure he is done yet. I'm pretty sure Ryan FitzPickSix is still on a roster somewhere. Then again he was always labelled 'cerebral' qb given Harvard.

sCam has never been known as cerebral. If anything, his most famous moment on the gridiron was an amazing example of how little awareness he actually has (handing 5head SB because 'business decision' on fumble).

It's not like he had next week to worry about.
Fitzpatrick can still throw the ball, Cam can't.

If we're on the topic of former Patriots QBs, what do Ryan Mallett or Jacoby Brissett think about the Patriots?

Ocho Sinco survived in the NFL for years not knowing how to spell cat.

Cam is a free lancer like Mahomes. Besides a big part of Cams game is calling his own number on run plays.
free lancer? sure, that works will as an NFL QB

It's such a copout and I knew the media was going to take it there. I'm sorry that Cam has never been the cerebral QB and has always been the athletic one. It has nothing to do with his skin color. Mac had to make his game cerebral, he's not 1/3 the athlete Cam is.

Every team already has them on their roster.
31 other teams didn’t want Newton in 2020. 31 other teams didn’t want newton In 2021.
32 teams don’t want him today.
Why would that change?
But the NFL GOAT head coach wanted Cam and he resigned him before FA. Are you saying that Belichick cant identify QBs? Oh my, what does that say about Mac Jones?

Furthermore, Cam was coming back from a serious injury. Moreover, you have no idea how many teams spoke with Cams people and Cam wanted to play in 2020 and forgo a back up role. Where else could Cam have had a chance to start and play? No place because there were no vacancies.

Some people here turned on Brady after 20 years and 6 rings. After one 7-9 year, it'll be open season on Cam. I don't bear the guy any ill will, until he says how much he hated it here.

Many of Mahomes passes are not scripted. Its sandlot ball winging the ball sidearm.

Lamar Jacksons runs are not preplanned. He bounces around like a ping pong ball. Cam sees green grass or the endzone he takes off in that direction. 600 rushing yards and 12 TDs worth.

Ive said it 10 times. Cam couldnt throw last season, but the talent surrounding him in the pass game was awful. Brady left because the offensive passing weapons' were so putrid. Brady covered up for so many bad draft picks and flunkies at WR. Yall better pray that this Mac Jonesy is for real otherwise its going to get ugly real quick in Patriotsville.

Belichick really had no other options, and yes an appeal to authority that belichick signed him so that’s proof someone else will is ridiculous. Many, many veterans get released here and never play again.
Belichick would readily admit the newton experiment was a failure on the field, if he were to speak freely, which we know he never will.

as long as tweedle dum and tweedle dee are the first 2 posters in a thread, you can be sure it is irrelevant

Bill's biggest shortcoming this year when we had oodles of money to spend and a ton of draft capital was not upgrading our QB room at all other than adding Jones. So here we are with Cam, who was supposedly the solid veteran who if was replaced by Jones as starter would at least be the back up, is gone. Whatever happened in TC with his play, attitude or the vax has made him radioactive like Ice said. Stidham right on cue is hurt and out at least 6 weeks recovering from back surgery. A complete bust. This leaves us with Brian freaking Hoyer who should have never been in any position to take a meaningful snap for this team again after his abomination in KC last year. If our season goes South due to an injury to Mac that keeps him sidelined any length of time, all that $150 mil will be for naught as we watch another season of horrific QB play.

who?

For 20 blessed years Patriots fans favorite guy was the starting QB.

In other cities the favorite player is the 2nd string QB because they literally hate the # 1 QB.

where?

Cam just needs to be an adult.

I hope he can do that.
I do wonder what really went down. You have to admit, Jones being named the starter surprised everyone. We all know Mac looked like he was running the offense better but Cam looked pretty decent too. I do wonder if there was a blow up of sorts inside where Josh wanted Mac but Bill wanted Cam and things were communicated poorly to Cam. The fact that Cam is not at least our back up when he said he is willing to be a back up is also telling. Something happened. Not sure if Cam will share it but I think it is possible that he may be fuming and with good reason.

Now you are sure what Belichick would say? Unless you know the answer yourself, would you ask him why he picked Harry?

Facts are that Cam was resigned and lost his job because of no vaccine. When he got sideways with the NFL virus rules the end was near.
