Pickens is the last guy I would bring in if you are looking for players to set a culture. He was reportedly late for games and team events numerous times last year.

Guys ego outweighs his talents by a wide margin. There is a reason the Steelers are looking to move him now that they signed Metcalf.

They have a shaky qb situation this year... maybe will bring in the discount double check himself... doesn't make sense for them to move their best wr at this point... and if they let him walk next year, given what WR's get in free agency, they will probably garner a round 3 compensatory pick... based on the quality of the draft this year, i'd prefer a 3 next year vs a 4 this year... ymmv on that one...

Hed be kind of a last resort for me if we don’t land hunter or get another deal to work out at wr. But living in Pittsburgh ive watched almost all of his games, on the field the guy is phenomenal. The potential of pairing him with maye is worth a 4th rd flier and a 1 year trial on the final year of his rookie contract. Dont forget hes been playing with mostly trash at qb and an aging russell wilson, we may not have seen his best either.

I’d take a flyer on Pickens, but at no more than a 5th. That way, if he did act out, the team could cut him and write off the pick as an acceptable loss.

By comparison, Randy Moss cost a 4th. In Pickens, we are looking at a similar risk, but at a much lower ceiling.

If I’m taking a chance on a headcase, I’d prefer Diggs at this point, who costs no draft pick and has shown himself to be a hard worker.
