Why'd we sign Ngakoue then?

Maybe they consider a waiver claim as a different bit of business than a free agent signing… But you’re right of course, it does seem inconsistent…

Would you take Douglas as a replacement for Wolf?
It’s uncertain how many of the Jets bad moves are the result of Woody’s meddling and/or Rodgers power plays. And there are many bad moves.

But one thing for sure is that Jets fans are no happier with the state of their OL than we are with ours.

The NYJ are hilarious. I mean - the fact that NE is in a better position going forward is insane. And that team has talent - players chosen by the now fired GM - yet still loses at an incredible clip.

AR is a killer. He’s won ONE SB and it was P Manning-esque in the sense that the D did all the work !

Not at this time of year. We are done for the season.
I’d sign him for next year to take pressure off having to find the LT in the draft. But our front office is sitting back and enjoying the amazing job they’ve done. Why should they start thinking about next year now?

In a way this is a shrewd move by Minnesota. When Jones departs and signs with somebody as a free agent, the Vikings should reel in a compensatory pick in the 2026 draft for their low monetary investment.

The Vikings were one of CBS Sports' projected landing spots for Jones. Minnesota's quarterback of the future appears to be first-round pick J.J. McCarthy, who is out for the year with a knee injury, while Sam Darnold is a pending free agent who has made some money for himself with a career year. The Vikings also have Nick Mullens and Brett Rypien on roster, but McCarthy is the only quarterback under contract beyond this year.

Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is signing with the Minnesota Vikings, coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday, a notable move for a team that is likely facing another quarterback transition in the offseason.
The Vikings are signing Jones for $375,000 for the remainder of this season, a source told Schefter. He will start out on the Vikings' practice squad, leaving the possibility Jones could sign with another team if another starting quarterback goes down in the next three weeks.
Earlier this week, O'Connell spoke with each quarterback on the roster to reiterate his confidence in them. Minnesota's QB depth chart has Sam Darnold, Nick Mullens and Brett Rypien with J.J. McCarthy on injured reserve.

As of this moment the AFC playoffs will most likely be:
- Broncos at Bills
- Ravens at Steelers
- Chargers at Texans
- with KC getting a bye

Personally I think the Chiefs will lose at least once more, and Buffalo will get the bye and home field advantage thanks to owning the tiebreaker.
KC's remaining schedule is
- home vs 8-4 Chargers
- away at 3-8 Browns
- home vs 8-5 Texans
- away at 9-3 Steelers
- away at 7-5 Broncos

Buffalo is at Detroit in week 15 and they are at the Rams next week, but they finish with Patriots/Jets/Patriots.

Fwiw he has a career 71% catch rate. He’s only 25 yo and is familiar with AVP.

What's his connection with AVP?

They’re tied in receiving yards this season, while AVP actually has more rushing yards than Toney.

When old age shall this generation waste,
Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe
Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou say'st,
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."

He couldn't make it with Mahomes. Why would we want another head case?

I have provided false information to the message board…I am remiss. I should have written “he is familiar with the same offensive concepts as AVP”…since they were both in the same system.

What is wrong with this picture (a map of NFL television coverage)?

The area in blue has to be a must-see game, maybe something along the lines of two of the best teams in the league, correct?

Wrong.

Ironically the network itself doesn't agree, sending their "A" team announcers to the games broadcast in red, while the "B" broadcast team is announcing the game in blue zones.

The coverage in blue pits a 3-10 team versus a 5-8 team.
The teams for the areas in red have a combined 13 wins, while the teams in blue are a combined 8-18.

The networks' love with Dallas - especially by Fox - is ridiculous.
This is a team that has not won a super bowl in 29 years.
In fact it is a team that has not even won a divisional round playoff game in 29 years.

No other NFL team gets as much national exposure.
Not even the Chiefs, and definitely not any of the five other teams that are 10-3 or better.

Dallas on TV in 2024:
Week 1: near-nationwide 4:30 game (at Cleveland)
Week 2: largest exposure in Fox' early slot (vs Saints)
Week 3: primary 4:30 game (vs Ravens)
Week 4: nationwide - TNF (at Giants)
Week 5: nationwide - SNF (vs Pitt)
Week 6: primary 4:30 game (vs Lions)
Week 7: bye
Week 8: nationwide - SNF (at 49ers)
Week 9: near-nationwide in early slot (at Atlanta)
Week 10: near-nationwide 4:30 game (vs Phil)
Week 11: nationwide - MNF (vs Texans)
Week 12: near-nationwide early (at Wash)
Week 13: nationwide 4:30 Thanksgiving game (vs Giants)
Week 14: nationwide - MNF (vs Bengals)
Week 15: largest exposure in Fox' ealy slot (at Car)
Week 16: nationwide - SNF (vs Tampa Bay)
Week 17: nationwide 4:30 game (at Phil)
Week 18: TBD, but since it is Wash at Dallas, I'm sure it will be played in many television markets above and beyond Dallas and DC.

It is beyond ridiculous that such a bad team gets so much exposure outside of its own home market.

I think @Sciz is spot on.
