We'd use him as a 3rd TE, taking advantage of his talent as a receiver in a way that might've been redundant were Dave Thomas still healthy.

JAGs who you know and who know your system are more valuable, they can be immediately useful with less coaching, but in the final analysis they are still JAGs. It's better to have him but not a tragedy if we don't.

There's a difference, I think, between being no tragedy if we don't sign him and being a JAG. I think he's certainly a JAG but with potential.

Mills has yet to make the game-day 45 for the Vikings, who have their bye this weekend. Perhaps after an extra week of practice, he will become sufficiently versed in their offense - such as it is - to be activated for the first time this season.

I still don't know why Minnesota claimed Mills during the final cut-down, anyway. He is either their 4th TE - behind Shiancoe, Kleinsasser and Jeff Dugan - or their 3rd FB, behind Richardson and Naufahu Tahi. Not an efficient use of roster space, IMHO.

I suspect that the only reason Mills is still in the Twin Cities is Childress bragging about how he got him away from BB and the Pats. He'd look like a complete moron (yes, I know that to most people he already is) if he cut Mills now.
