Here we go:
- I got killed for this all week, but I said the Ravens were not the team people were making out to be. Their supposed playoff surge was no different than the Patriots' last four games. They were just squeaking by teams and some bad or failing teams. Their offense is horrible.
- Kudos to the defense. Stopping Flacco and the Ravens' offense isn't exactly stopping Manning and the Broncos, but they were downright stingy on 3rd downs which has been a problem (the Ravens were 5 -14 and four of the ones they converted were when the Pats were protecting a sizable lead late in the third and fourth quarter). The Ravens' offense didn't even cross the fifty until the second half.
- Also kudos to the o-line. They were far from perfect, but they held up pretty well without Solder against a good front seven. Special shout out to Wendell who did very well vs. Ngata today.
- LeGarette Blount went from fan whipping boy to the guy you put in to soften up the opposing defense and guy you want in there a lot. He is a wrecking ball when he runs and still has some moves.
- Some of the defensive players are getting healthier. I saw Spikes limping a bit, but he clearly is moving much faster than he has any time over the last month. Talib looked a lot better today too.
- The rookies are starting to emerge a bit. Logan Ryan made some big plays. Broke up a few passes. Got a few TDs. Collins is starting to be a good cover LB that has been desperately missing for a long while since Mayo went out.
- Another game. Another crappy performance by the refs. I am not crying about calls because more of the bad calls went against the Ravens. The last two minutes of the half was atrocious.
