The trick is that Freeze billed himself as the ultimate "Christian coach," 100% led by Jesus and way, way holier than his rivals. When the NCAA started investigating he had that gall to tell recruits that it was nothing but the inevitable persecution anyone as strong in faith as him faces, and even compared it to the crucifixion.

So yeah, that guy probably shouldn't have escorts on speed dial -- for himself or his players. Imagine you're a devout Christian parent who agreed to send your sons to Coach Freeze's care because he pledged to guide them on the path of righteousness, but it turned out he was actually plying them with cash and hookers?

Couldn't it be possible that coach announced at the end of practice something along the lines of, "I know you boys have been working hard, so I ordered some entertainment to your dorms."

But nah, he probably just wanted one for himself.

Because the phone call in question lasted anywhere between 1-59 seconds, Coach Freeze must be a very efficient ordering up his hookers. You'd think it would take more time to navigate through the menu options...Dial 1 for Southern Belle....Dial 2 for Christian Candy. Then there's the credit card verification process, the necessity to provide directions to the rendezvous, etc. Coach Freeze must have it down to a science.
The wrong number explanation is mildly plausible....but.....the man did resign immediately after this info came to light.
