Fred Jackson's a liar. Hasn't he read Patsfans? The Patriots weren't using ANY defense in the 2nd half.

Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

I brought data to contradict your absurd "theories" and "conjectures" about how the defense is dialed up in 2nd half of the year. After 2004 SB win that is not true.

You have not shown one piece of data to backup your claim how BB has dialed up the defense on 2nd half of years. Backup your claim and then your input will be relevant, else it is irrelevant.

Colts have been their #1 rival past 8 years including playoffs, unless ofcourse you'd rather think it is the Bills.

Again, what does one game a season that usually takes place at the same time every year have to do with comparing what the playbook looks like at the start of the season compared to the end of the season? It was nice you gave us the scores of that game but they are completely irrelevant to my point.

I do admit I misspoke. I meant to say when this team is in transition like last year and 2005 and 2001, they dial back the playbook early in the season. In years, where the defense is strong and returning from the previous years, they don't need to do that. I do know that the three years that I mentioned that the points allowed the first half of the season is much higher than the second half, but I don't have time to calculate them now.

Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

I only saw the Bills/Pats game, but looking at the Bills other games by the first half and second half scores, it would seem that they may actually pretty adept at understanding the defense and changing their play. I believe they have come from huge first half deficits in all three games.

Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

It's easy to argue that post because it's just beyond stupid. You only make it worse.

Patriots go up 21-0. defense makes 4 stops/ 2 ints

21-7. Drive to put game away turns into red zone int 21-10. Buffalo held to FG.

Buffalo with momentum stopped opening drive second half. Patriots have great field position to start closing game out.

INT, Bills momentum short field TD.

Patriots get field goal, Bills stopped two more times. Offense, AGAIN, has FOURTH time to close game out. Red zone pick.

Bills with momentum tie game.

PICK SIX, Bills lead

TD

FG.

The defense gave the offense five chances to close the game out and the reward was four picks with one a pick six.

Yet the idiots think the defense lost the game.

STUCK ON STUPID

Listen Idiot....

Yeah,Brady threw 4 picks but we all saw that he was able to take the team down the field and score against a pumped up Bills team who just scored in a very hostile environment at the end of the game only to have the defense
sh!t the bed once again because they could not stop a nose bleed and send the game into OT which could have had a different ending.

Did Brady help us with those 4 INTs that brought Buffalo back??....No
'BUT'

Did Brady throw an INT that the Bills ran into the end zone as time expired to lose the game?....No

The defense lost the game because they were UNABLE to clamp down on a final drive that was about as easy of a winning drive as there could be. - Brady TIED the game up,the defense was ****ies on that final drive.

The defense lost the game because it was tied before the Bills had the FG,get it through your thick skull....Brady didn't help the team but he didn't lose it for them either.

At this time the defense blows chunks and hasn't allowed a QB to throw for less than 380 yards, yet you defend them...you're simply ridiculous

NO HE THREW IT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE

Yeah, four INT and a pick six are just a small pothole in the road.

What a genius you are

Ian should worry more about goofs who don't realize the game was Fu(king TIED before the defense decided OT was not an option

The game was in LIMBO with 2 minutes to go...it was TIED

The defense BLEW the chance to send the game into OT,The DL and secondary watched as Jackson said 'Bye Bye'

I know you are from the Western side of this state where comment likes yours are expected in Squeelers territory
...but Please, grow some brains and think before you post crap.

Brady was bad early and showed his toughness late by making up for it and giving the team a chance to win in OT...but the defense wanted no part of extra play so we all went home.

You are wrong...give it up,this conversation is over and no reason to make a fool of yourself any further regarding this topic.

LIMBO IS DEFINED AS HAVING FIVE CHANCES EARLIER IN THE GAME TO CLOSE IF OUT BUT DUE TO THE OFFENSE FU(KING) IT UP; IT NEVER GOT DONE

The defense BLEW the chance to send the game into OT,The DL and secondary watched as Jackson said 'Bye Bye'

THE FACT THAT THEY HAD GIVEN THE OFFENSE FIVE CHANCES EARLIER TO CLOSE THE GAME MEANS NOTHING TO IDIOTS LIKE ME.

I know you are from the Western side of this state where comment likes yours are expected in Squeelers territory

YEAH, PHILLY FANS ARE JUST LIKE ME, REAL EINSTEINS. I'M MENSA ALRIGHT
...but Please, grow some brains and think before you post crap.

DO AS I SAY; NOT AS I DO

Brady was bad early and showed his toughness late

BEING FROM PHILLY, LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT A GENIUS I AM. HE WAS BAD EARLY WHICH BEING FROM PHILLY MEANS THE LAST 31 MINUTES OF THE GAME. SINCE I'M A PHILLY EINSTEIN, EARLY MEANS THE SECOND HALF BECAUSE IT'S PLAYED AFTER THE FIRST HALF.

GET IT

IT'S WITH GENIUS LIKE THIS I COME UP WITH SUCH BRILLIANT THOUGHTS AND POSTS.

SINCE YA'LL AGREE WITH ME, YOU THINK JUST LIKE ME. WE ARE LIKE INTELLECTUAL TWINS. DON'T YOU LOVE THOSE WARM FUZZY FEELINGS?
[

B] by making up for it[/B]

ANOTHER ROUND OF BRILLIANCE FROM ME. EVER SEE THE MOVIE "A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN"? REMEMBER WHEN TOM HANKS WANTED CREDIT FOR SAVING PEOPLE IN A BURNING HOTEL? HE DIDN'T GET IT IN THE SCENE BECAUSE HE STARTED THE FIRE WHILE DRUNK.

I'M NOT LIKE THAT. YOU CAN BURN DOWN MY HOTEL BUT IF YOU SAVE SOMEONE, YOU ARE MY HERO!!! BECAUSE I'M THAT SMART....I LIVE IN PHILLY.

and giving the team a chance to win in OT

BECAUSE THE OFFENSE WAS SO BRILLIANT WITH FOUR PICKS EARLY IN THE LAST 31 MINUTES OF THE GAME. DON'T TRY TO OUT THINK ME. I CAN SLAM A REVOLVING DOOR WHILE EXPLAINING 2+2=5.

...but the defense wanted no part of extra play so we all went home.

AGAIN, DON'T TRY TO OUT THINK ME. EARLY IN THE LAST TWO MINUTES IS WHAT COUNTS. DON'T LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED LATE IN THE EARLY SECOND HALF. IT'S NOTHING. I KNOW, I'M IN PHILLY

You are wrong...give it up,this conversation is over

(THANK GOD)
and no reason to make a fool of yourself any further regarding this topic.

Thanks Einstein

That really cleared it up.

yea, it was a joke bub

Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

Kurt Warner knew what defense BB was using in Feb 2002 based on his last two drives. Jake Delhomme knew what defense BB was using in Feb 2004 based on his 4th quarter. Peyton Manning knew what defense Bill was using in Jan 2007 when he came back from 21-3. His brother caught on the following Feb (although was extremely lucky).

If those championship-era teams got shredded in all those 2nd halves, I don't know why it is a surprise to anyone that a significantly worse team running the same scheme will get shredded as well.

Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

So our 4-3 defense with Ellis, Haynesworth, Carter Anderson and who knows what at safety has sucked for years. Interesting.

If i didn't know that, I would think they were working on something new, with a lot of new players and it would take time before they got proficient enough to anything too complex.

referring to a bend-dont-break philosophy that gets implemented in the 2nd half of all these games that the Patriots get a big lead in. 10-15 yard CB cushions on 3rd and 8. That kind of stuff.

And also referring to the defense in the second half relative to the defense in the first half of the same game - not between years.
