OK, we didn't win three SB's in a row. Bummer. Big Time. Denver still hurts and will feel even worse when we're watching them play on Sunday. But no one else ever three-peated in the SB either.

However, there is a record that the Pats can match in the 2006 season: The Steelers won four Lombardis within the six year span of the 1974--79 seasons. No one has come close to that record: it took Montana and his 49'ers NINE years to accomplish the same between the 81 and 89 seasons; the 'Boys only got four over a 19 year period with two different teams.

I am incredibly optimistic about next season, even before the Draft and Free Agent signings, and can see another 14-win season coming our way with a better-rested team and a decent schedule (vs "Murderers' Row" from this year's start). BB and Pioli have loaded up on draft choices and the Patriots are still the best game in town for a top skill position Free Agent who's looking to cap his career with a ring (a la Corey Dillon last year).

So, who else is on board for "Four in Six in 2006?"

I'm thinking more like "6 In 8 In 2008". Of course, I'm just a homer.

My first post since black Sunday. If we were to win "6 of 8 in 2008" that would also give us the vaunted "3 in a row".
It would shut up Irvin for good.
It would out-match any other historical NFL team record.
This team has gotten younger since the 2001 championship team and is poised to continue to "rebuild" and will be my choice to win any future championships in this decade.

It'll be a lot more doable if they re-sign Seymour.

Of course this pattern can continue so long we keep winning. Why not just shatter the record and go for 8 in 10 in 2010...If we're gonna break the record...might as well shatter it

Nope, they'll be investigate by DoJ by the 4th one, and indicted under antitrust law by the 5th ...

probably won't get that far...the NFL will just put in another special rule requiring the Patriots to play all their games on the Road in Domes for the next three years with "specially designated" officialing crews
