Forum Mock Draft

Boo hoo, you don't get your favorite player. This is actually a pick I can totally see us making.

With that, Falcons select Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia.

The 49ers are on the clock.

No boo hoo, I'm cool with the majority decision. I believe in democracy. I simply don't believe that Belichick will spend a 1st round pick on a guy who probably won't see the field on 1st or 2nd down.

Just what I see.

Now we are arguing about a make believe pick on a mock draft 3 weeks before the real draft?

Let's get over it and resume the picking.

Just what I see.

for who the pats already have, jones is a lousy pick......he does absolutely nothing for the pats when it comes to the passing game, so I don't really see how he will be useful on 3rd down either. maybe 10 years ago, I could see him following in bobby hamilton's footsteps, be he doesn't have a place now

where do you even play him?

He could probably take over Jermaine Cunningham's role as a rotational interior pass rusher.

Also, pretty good Archer tonight.

The problem I have with Datone Jones is that he just lacks the length to be a LDE in BB's system. Yes he can be moved inside on passing downs and could be very effective there but I just don't think he's what BB envisages as a 1st round DE. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not even on our board.

The Eagles select Jamar Taylor CB Boise St. The Lions are on the clock.

Jones is 6'4" and so is Armond Armstead. Perhaps he has no intention of moving back to a 3-4 and its duplicity but with our LBs something has to change. Either get the other end or draft a real coverage LB and trade Spikes while you still have him under control to fill another need.

I've got Archer DVR'd

exactly......using a 1st round pick to have someone compete with cunningham sounds lacking in purpose

duplicity makes the reasoning even weaker......if anything, this defense should be looking to become faster

I said IF. I prefer a return to a 3-4 given our LBers.

The Cardinals select QB Mike Glennon

I think its a zero net sum.......with Ninko as a DE in the 4-3, it's as close to being a 3-4 as it is......even so.....if you're looking to 3-4, then kawann short would have been the dude at that moment
