A dear friend passed from this. He fought for 17 years. His mom passed much quicker.
This does not confirm or deny head injuries as as a factor however there *may* be genetic
factor.
I remember him from 92-94. Fun to watch. Wouldn't wish this on anyone. What makes it worse is that it's a mostly unexplored disease and people do stupid Ice Bucket Challenges to garner likes on FB instead of doing more research. Soapbox aside, May God bless and deepest prayers to the family and friends.
Horrible. 46?
I will always remember him as one of the keys, the building blocks, who made the Patriots what they are today. I know he fell to the side for Byars in 1996, but prior to that, he was a key cog in the offense and in the Patriots resurgence.
I'm in the Rotten Apple this weekend, so it's harder for me to research, but I believe that Turner had already signed elsewhere by 1996; Cowboys maybe?
Edit: Turner signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after the 1994 season.
This is a very heartbreaking video - very courageous of him to share that, especially considering the image we all have of him as the burly fullback who simply got the job done
