How about this nice combination :

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2007/11/13/ramblings/dvoa-ratings/5752/

The Patriots have the best ranking ever after 10 weeks.
The 49ers have the 5th worst ranking ever after 10 weeks.

LMAO. Thanks Bill and Scott.

edit - "ever" meaning since FO started, in 1996.

Both they and Accuscore seem to think that San Francisco will still win some games, keeping us out of the top three picks.

Their specific projections:

We get the #1 pick in the 2008 draft: 2.2%
We get a top three pick in the 2008 draft: 21.5%

Those numbers are a little weird considering that St. Louis plays SF next week and they rank St. Louis 11% better than SF (20% weighted for recent games) - I thought I heard Adam say that they give 7% for HF which would mean they expect St. Louis to win a close game. Anyway they have St. Louis at 61% for a top 3 and that should be SF next week assuming St. Louis wins as they should given that St. Louis is a different team with Jackson.

Wouldn't the airwaves be a nicer place if
sock puppets read some facts like these?

Not only is SanFran 32nd so far this year, but
Oakland - whose 3rd the Patriots hold - is 31st.

I like that the special teams for the Pats are rated so high. The situational play that BB was really emphasizing in the beginning of the year has a huge effect on the variation rate as well. They'll take a hit in ST ranking after this game against the Bills because he's not going to kick it to McGee.
