I might be able to buy that Wells backed off because of the publicity, but I do not think that the New York Times was tipped off by Columbia. I think it was an NFL leaker that even their own side could not control.

At least, when I exchanged some emails at about that time with Bill Zajc, the Columbia physicist mentioned in the Times piece, he was very annoyed with all of the attention from the Times article and with having an email inbox crammed with rude comments of fans from both sides of the issue.

I read that but its not neat and tidy for the average football fan. She does a good job. But again its in multiple aricles. We need an article that really condenses everything with facts, that is easy for the average fan to consume.
