Same story for 5 -6 yrs in a row. in a key situation we lack a game changer.
no sack.

flacco played like crap in the first half when he was being hurried , hit and we even got a sack. then 2nd half he was not even touched.

we missed the guy fanane , we got him to rush from inside and was a total loss. but am i suppose to feel the good we got fanane for a value over bryant who went to seattle and was a force this year? i am starting to believe what we are saying we can take a lesser player to save money.
does these downgrades add up. i think the pats finished the year with cap space , does that make me happy ?.

I hope Mr.Jones is not made of glass...he spends too much time in the trainers room same with Talib.

Chandler Jones and Armond Armstead.

Fixed.

need to get a top tier DT to park next to wilfork.......deaderick and love are decent, but need someone more athletic next to wilfork.......not another wilfork

Seymour - avg 8 sacks year after leaving us still and even this year hurt/ir`ed he has more sack then our DT`s.He is a UFA.

Put him next to vince and flank him with Jones and ninko.I would not draft another outside guy as hightower has be that guy as putting him on bench or on coverage is not good with spikes as least capable coverage.

we need a coverage LB and move one of the bigger spikes/hightower down to rush.

I think the D was hurt way more from the loss of Talib than our lack of pass rush.

I liked how they were jamming the receivers from the line and making things tough. As soon as Smith had a free release he found a gigantic hole in the secondary.

Some FAs that would be worth a look:
Michael Johnson - DE - Bengals
Cliff Avril - DE - Lions
Dwight Freeney - DE - Colts
Osi Umenyiora - DE - Giants
Desmond Bryant - DT - Raiders
Paul Kruger - DE (in a 4-3, at least) - Ravens
Connor Barwin - DE - Texans *forum binky alert*

Then there's the potential signing of Armond Armstead who can play both end and tackle.

Pretty much this. If they are going to resign Talib then they better get some quality depth at the position. Defense had swagger up until that injury.

If they're smart they'll sign Armstead.

the pats simply don't get enough push up the middle.......wilfork stays put at the LOS most of the time.......the other DT needs to be more physical and generate some push......the ends do pretty well in getting around the OT, but the pocket needs to be pushed back a bit.....at least in the 4-3

I personally believe the pats are only a couple of big bodies away from going back to the 3-4

I don't understand why he didn't play (i didn't see him play) he was cleared and practiced the last to days. We really needed some help rushing flacco and it was do or die. He has all off season for his ankle to get better.

Not just DL, but LB, as Spikes looked like a 90-year old man trying to cover TEs...

Spikes is totally overrated. I'd like to see Patriots upgrade his spot and have him as a backup...

Yesterday's game, KyleLove was out, causing large gap in the front.

Maybe it's the trainers who need fixing - when you see teams like SF suffer nothing(and they play on a bad turf), whereas they have a progressive stretching philosophy and then you see a team like NE go week to week with a new injury to key players, makes you wonder. Don't get me wrong, freak injuries are part of the NFL. But this team does seem to suffer more of them and then more of the dinky injuries as well.
