First ten starts for Bledsoe, Brady and Jones

Ten games in, I decided to compare stats for Bledsoe, Brady and Mac Jones as starters in their first ten starts.
I know the game now is different than 1993 and 2001 and the talent around Jones is better than Bledsoe and arguably than Brady's first year as a starter.
Great perspective. I think it is hard to compare the talent on the 2001 team that went on to win 3 super bowls with the 2021 team at this point in time. Until there is a longer track record 2001 > 2021 talent wise. I also think it is a fair point brought up by a previous poster that Brady had a year of schooling and two training camps before taking over the team. Mac can definitely use a bit more time to build up physically to go along with the mental part of his game.

Years ago I had a neighbor in his 60's who had a heart attack. While he was in the hospital he met a younger nurse who he left his wife for when he came out of the hospital. He then changed his will and gave everything to his new wife. He was dead within a month.
Damn thats cold.

Different eras. The game today is way more pass friendly, but Mac's poise is similar to TB12

I forgot how Brady’s numbers fell off in the last four starts that year.
59.46 completion percentage761 yards2touchdowns5 interceptions67.4rating
Realistically, I think over the next 4 games, Mac's probably not gonna be hitting 80% of his passes either.

But I would love to be wrong!!! :p

I am NOT saying Jones will be Brady ...

I took the overall avg for each season and adjusted accordingly. Example - avg completion % was 59.0 in 2001 and 65.4 in 2021. Multiply Brady's % by 1.108. Imho, it's not unreasonable, but some would consider it Eau du Dino. I'm sure old Quant me could come up with something crazier, but might as well keep it simple. Looking back, it looks like post merger, Stabler in '76 then followed by Montana in '89 had the best adjusted completion percentages. For QB rating, Staubach in '71 followed by Stabler in '76 (then BJones in '76 then Montana in '89).

With these 4 games they’ve got coming up, hoping to not see a similar drop. Mac and this O are really going to be tested.

How so? If you disagree with the "inflation from 2001 to 2021" conversion from 20 years ago to today, I totally understand, though.

Totally different league. But the more modern guys he is being put in the bucket with beating their rookie records. Dak Prescott. Russell Wilson is a good sign he's going to be really good

adjusted for inflation???? whatever..........

You said so yourself in the OP that, "I know the game now is different than 1993 and 2001."
YEah, but that doesn't mean you make up numbers. that is called creative accounting.. what is your evidentiary basis to quantify the changes??

Jesus 10 fumbles for Brady. Were all of those lost fumbles?
