All this means is it's going to be more fun to bet on the NFL this year. I already have $20 on the Pats +2 this week.

Is that really the line? I hadn't seen it yet. I actually think since so many in the Jets organization are familiar with Cassel, there's less chance of him pulling any surprises.

Still, that line includes the 3 point adjustment for the home team, so Vegas thinks the Pats are still 1 point better on a neutral field. We'll see.

I was there Sept. long and they were 9-5. I wanted to bet $20 but whats the point when I cant even double my money?

Think about this for a second:

Pats + living legend Tom Brady = 7:2 odds
JEST + living legend Brett Favre = 15:1 odds
Pats + "who's that?" Matt Cassel = 20:1 odds

Which of these actually surprises you more?

As been stated on this board many times before, odds are not based on who Vegas thinks will win or lose, but based on how they think people will bet. Typically, NY teams in general have overinflated odds because there are just more people from the NY area who go to Vegas to gamble than other areas.
