Favre, Not Brady, Was Garoppolo's Favorite QB Growing Up

Ian Logue

There was another quarterback other than Tom Brady growing up that Jimmy Garoppolo admired.

Hopefully he has matured and grown out of it.

Hopefully he didn't model his game after the INT, gambling aspect of Favre's game

Jimmy was 10 when the pats won their first Super Bowl. I'm gonna guess jimmy started watching football a little bit before that and that he was a fan of favre before Brady came into the league

how can any bears fan like favre?

Favre isn't my cup of tea, but I can see how he'd get a non-team following as the freewheelin' good-ol'-boy gunslinger type. In fact, he's kinda similar to Bradshaw in that way... more talent though... but less self-discipline.

Hey, when I was a kid in the 70's, I liked Bob Griese, Terry Bradshaw and Roger Staubach. Griese was in the division kickin' our butts twice a year.

Well, that settles that. I'm not opening any more of Garoppolo's text messages.

I grew up watching and liking the same guys. They were football gods to me. Never imagined the Pats would wind up with a QB better than ALL of them. Also loved Namath (I know, I know) and Tarkington.

First he roots for Brady to be suspended now he's saying Favre is better than Brady? Cut his ass.

Get off our lawn, Jimmy!

I have now double secret ignored you.

You can't ignore someone who is ignoring you first. That's like, in the constitution man.

More important part of that article:

With Brady still playing at a high-level, the possibility is there that if Garoppolo plays well, he could earn himself an opportunity to start elsewhere next season. The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs wonders if given the problems the Bears continue to have whether or not the Bears would bring Garoppolo in to try and turn things around.

Given the relationship Belichick already admitted the club has with the Bears front office, It’s an obvious landing spot if things don’t go well in Chicago this year, and dealing him out of the conference certainly makes sense.
