Re: favorite "nail biter" win

I voted for Baltimore, but my actual fav is the Monday Nighter in Denver where we took a saftey for field position and then came back to win.

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

Pats vs. Colts from 11/30/2003 when McGinnest made the game saving tackle on Edgerin James near the goal line.

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

They are all great wins, but right now have to go with last night.. TB's return, and a different D..

Right now my BP is still up after that win..

That believe it or not was the game I thought of when I saw this thread. Love how Bill threw everyone off with that safety decision.

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

Brady to Brown in overtime to beat the fins. That long pass.

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

Good picks, all of them, but what happened to 2003? There were at least 4 classic nail biters that year (@Miami, @Houston, Denver, @Indy).

Last night's game felt like '03.

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

Whatever year they beat the Chargers in San Diego (2006 I think)

I wish for the return of the 07 feeling (except for the end of course)

:ditto:

Big time ditto on that. Surprised it wasn't on the list. After that, I think I just might put last night's game.

Agreed. I go with Denver, no question.

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

Denver game. Slayed the dragon in its lair. The intentional safety defined BB as very different from the stolid unimaginative HCs in the NFL.

I have to go with a game not on the list- 03 Colts game where McGinest stuffed Edgerrin James at the one on the last play of the game.

Bingo. That game also determined HFA as the Colts, Pats and Chiefs could have all finished 13-3. I was one of two Pats fans in a bar watching that finish and EVERYONE else was rooting for the Colts...almost all Raiders fans still bitter about the tuck rule. When McGinest made the 4th-down stop, the place went silent except for my friend and I.

For pure entertainment value, last night's game is pretty close to the '02 Chicago game. That '02 game might be the best nail-biter game in Pats history if looked solely in a vacuum, putting aside all other considerations (e.g. playoff implications, quality of teams, etc.).

Poll is flaVVed without some of the '03 games, especially that Colts game.

Regards,
Chris

'03 Colts
'03 Broncos
'03 Miami.. especially since I live here and gave my neighbor crap for a week. TFB to TFB.

I liked '03 a lot.

The '07 Baltimore game gave me a headache that lasted two weeks.

I'm impressed with the list, but after reading all the posts on other nail biters I just well up with pride. There's been so many. It's been quite a run this decade hasn't it?

Gotta go with '07 @ Ravens as my favorite all time win. '04 vs. Colts would be second on this list. The game from last night would definitely be in the top five. Within ten minutes, I went from depressed (and injured as I broke my hand in anger two minutes earlier) to ecstatic (but still injured). I guess I'm made of glass.

Really? Damn man lol that sucks, what were you doing?

I voted for last night... Emotional game w/ Brady's return, and the "missing" players on D...

Re: favorite "nail biter" win

I also liked '04 Colts opener when McGinest sacked Peyton to knock them just out of Vandershank's range. It wasn't a "nail-biter" per se, but still enjoyable.

'02 season finale vs Miami in Foxboro. Miami wins and they're in. Pats at 8-7 need a win to stay alive and need help from the Packers to get in. Down 11 with a little over 3 min to go the Pats come back to force a 3 way tie in the division.. which they lost on tiebreakers to the Jests unfortunately, but listening to Dolphans on the radio the following Monday was good.
