EW Shrine Game

Tony Pauline on the risers from day one

One piece I indirectly took from that was that the OL coach at Lindenwood might be worth a closer look. He was a former recruiter at Mizzou.

Measurements are in

@bakes781 will be happy with Rutgers' OT Hollin Pierce's numbers. 6'7 1/2", 344lbs, 36 5/8" arms (yikes) which I believe makes him second amongst OTs, behind DJ Fluker, since 1999 who was only 1/8th longer. Might have to take another look.

Gerad Christian Lichtenhan , OT from Oregon State, 6'8", 328lbs, 36" arms

Oronde Gadsen weighs in at 247lbs which is good for him. Was listed at 236lbs which is low for a TE.

Disappointed that Tyler Batty from BYU (one of my binkies at DE) only had 32 1/2" arms. Thought they were much longer than that.

Wedig, Cabeldue & both Coopers = Guards.

Seems a bit old at 72 but strength is strength, am I right

Does anyone know if the Pats have a team down for the Shrine game and practices?

From google ai

"Yes, New England Patriots coaches have participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl. In 2025, Robert Kugler and Drew Wilkins will coach for the Patriots at the Shrine Bowl. Kugler will coach the offensive line for the East team, and Wilkins will coach the outside linebackers and serve as the defensive coordinator. "

Wilkins isn't coming back though and I can't imagine that Kugler is either. I would imagine that they have a group there taking in the practices and speaking with players.

Another gushing report on Hollin Pierce

Rutgers *cough*

Schiano is back there again and the truth is BB had some success with guys he coached.

Seriously though if they bring in a veteran FA to be the LT then a project with high ceiling makes s need but NOT at the expense of anyone that can make an impact next season. I’m thinking 4th round at the top

I don't think I want him at LT and I'm waiting to see how he goes against the better pass rushers at the combine but he's certainly in my should consider list right now. He looked to do well at the shrine game and those measurable are really intriguing. I'm a bit worried he might be DJ Fluker revisited however.

My boss is a big Rutgers fan so I'm all for talking them up.

The prior regime had an obsession with all the DBs there but that was about it.

We need a diamond in the rough I like.

Good Scouting Bro you are doing Elliott Wolfs job for him: I hope he's paying attention.

There are no diamods in the rough. There are 100s of people reviewing every candidate. The reveiwers use the Internet to breakdown every candidate. Every team knows every candidate. The tough part is picking the guys that can transition to the NFL. BB seemed to like team captains and smart guys more than athleticism, or really athletic guys from small schools. Let's hope we pick normal guys, BPA, and stop the idea of trying to be smarter than the other teams.

Dejean was CB in last year's draft. I wanted to pick him in R2 instead of Polk. I thought Koolaid or Dejean were the BPA. Now Polk is nearly a bust and Dejean is nominated for DROY. But Polk is a WR and we needed a WR - stupid decision making. If McConkey was an injury risk so we skipped him, then pick BPA. We don't need "diamonds in the rough", we need to pick normal guys that are the BPA like Dejean.

When I say Diamonds in the Rough I am talking about Day 3 Guys not Day 2. Day 2 guys should be starting or pushing for it.
