It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Nah, time to prove the team can execute the plays, make the tackles, maintain 60 minutes of intensity, and improve to 3-0 in the AFC. This needs to be a good warm up game for the road challenge next weekend.Pat the Pats Fan said:Time For Payback......

Oh I'm serious, Shanny is a decent enough coach, but as long as he's got Jake I'm not going to consider him to be an overwhelming threat, especially on the road.Patriotic Fervor said:You're being facetious, right, Box?
I mean, even the GD owner was talking about this particular game to reporters last Spring!
And while there is some merit to that take you've proposed, admit it - there's a bit more at stake here.
Remember back in the glory days of Bobby Orr and the Big Bad Bruins? Montreal would come to town, and right out of the box they'd be flying, seeking to establish hegemony over this upstart team. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. But those were great, great games!
This is a football version of that.
Get those brats ready for the grill, stock up on your favorite brew, make sure the VCR/DVD/PVR is ready to go, and except for select friends (i.e., the whole town!), NO VISITORS! NO INTERRUPTIONS! Under pain of death!
That's how it'll be in this household. Even my wife is itching for this game to get underway. God Bless her!

I'm looking for this team to start gelling, time to establish the pattern of consistency we demand from a Belichick team. I have no delusions of payback in a regular season game, other than sending Denver into the bye week 1-2 with a fan driven QB controversy would be a nice start to eliminating them from any playoff hopes.
With Cincinnati and the fish coming up, I'm looking for this team to get the talent harnessed this week, so it can get better and better each subsequent week. The only payback I'll accept is another Vince, but an unbeaten season to soil the Miami memory and sour the pundit's wheaties won't go amiss.

What this tells me is that the coaches let each and every player know the importance of this particular game. Guys are practicing and playing hurt.
You can forget about BB's standard line about no game meaning more than any other. They are preparing for this as if it is, as Bruschi would say, a hat game.
