This's probably been mentioned, somewhere along the line...But I really dig the fact that ever since we moved to the 32 Team Format in 2002, making things mathematically easy to get into a scheduling Rhythmic Flow, so to speak, we've matched up with the NFC East every 4 Years...and've made the Super Bowl every time, so far.

Even more interesting, of course, is that we've drawn an NFC East Opponent every such time.

God, I want another shot at shoving the ****ing Giants into the Gutter.

I've got nothing against Coach Coughlin or the way that they play FootBall...But it disgusts me to hear and read the Sewage about their allegedly "having our number" when both Games were evenly fought Battles that the Giants won by the skin of their teeth, and with a great deal of freakish Luck involved in the one case.

I presume Nothing...But my God, would I love to see us take 18-0 to the Super Bowl, poised to play the Giants one more time, and yes with all the Insanity that those circumstances would entail.

And there would be No Words to describe the Magnificence of our conquering the FootBall World that day.

I'm not sure if you've been watching the Giants this year or not, but they have no defense. They're not making the Super Bowl. And I honestly could not care less about going undefeated. If they do, great. If they don't and still win the Lombardi than that's all I care about.

Nobody uses the entire 22 Week Schedule better than Bill The Mad (Genius).

Nobody does a better job of Taking It Through The Gears and transforming a Team from its September Self into a far superior January and February Version...But Coach Coughlin's pretty good at that, too.

I stated that I want the Giants at Super Bowl 50, not that I expect them.

But to write them off at this early juncture would be foolish.

I will never understand this.
Understand not caring about going undefeated?

It's the same as not caring if you win by 1 or 100. Just win, and win the Super Bowl. Anything else is complete and total gravy, and I do not care about it.

No Giants. I have PTSD from them.

I perfectly understand that.

I truly do.

But phuck the Giants.

Phuck them.

Nobody knows better than them that they got Lucky...twice.

Their Fans talk a Good Game...of course they do.

Why would they ever admit the Truth?

There's no Advantage to doing so.

But they're terrified of us.

Everyone
is.

And well they ought be.

The Patriots are the Super Bowl Favorites now.

And yet the Vegas Odds are 5-2 against us.

I think most Fans of all Teams forget that crucial Aspect: Even the Favorites, at this point in the Year, when all 32 Teams are still at least technically alive, are not probably going to win it all.

We have the best Chance right now, I agree. But the Edge we carry over the Broncos is a thin one, especially with them getting us at Home after we play a Monday Nighter. And there are of course other Foes with reasonable Chances of Winning It All. It takes so very very much to defeat 32 Teams.

That is why I count myself among you who savor every Victory...and take no Championship for Granted.

But while I presume Nothing...by God, I aspire...to Everything.

And if we can actually pull it off and win that 5th Super Bowl...Well, I'll be ecstatic if we do so having gone 10-6 and making it happen as a Wild Card. That in itself would catapult us to an hitherto unprecedented level of Immortality...But if we can actually manage to pull all that off and go 19-0 while doing so...and if we also happen to crush the Giants on that Grand Stage?? All the better, my friends. All The Better.

Yeah, don't get it.

But gravy is seriously delicious! I think you're over a identifying with the players' mentality. They have to think that way to stay sane and keep from playing tight. As fans, we have the luxury of craving some gravy now and then.

I want the Patriots to go undefeated, Brady snatch the Lombardi from Mein Furher and to further entrench the stupidity of his Deflategate witch hunt, have Brady transform into a character from Mortal Kombat and end Goodell by performing a fatality on the corrupt bastard.

Understand both sides. Get to the SB and win (regardless of record) and it's history and should settle all debates once and for all.

Going undefeated is just legendary and would shut up the 1972 dolphins (as a side benefit) and really be the only thing Brady/BB haven't accomplished together. Not that I'd be scared of him just saying he'd hang it up and go out on top (i.e. motivated for the 3-peat, but let's get there first).

Nope, I seriously just don't care.

Like, it's nice and all if they go undefeated or beat rivals - but I don't care if they go 8-8 and beat nobody playing against no healthy players, so long as they win the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl's forever. So is undefeated, I guess - but the fact that Miami played 3 teams with a winning record that season is really supposed to impress me?

Winning the Super Bowl is a function of work put in, talent, coaching and execution, with the little bit of requisite luck. Going undefeated is almost entirely dependent on luck.

Um, disagree?

Ok.

I probably didn't word that right. It's the same work you put in as winning the Super Bowl, but in addition, the only other factor is a heaping helping of luck (injuries falling right, catching good opponents at a bad time, having lots of cupcakes on your schedule, teams shooting themselves in the foot against you, favorable weather). That's all stuff the team itself has no control over.
