Were I a SD fan, this would probably be my preferred route if what they are in fact getting for him is a 2008 pick. They can probably still get that a year from now.

They are clearly one of the Super Bowl favorites this year and this deal does nothing for them this year. They would be better off keeping Turner and getting the freedom to use all their 2007 picks on whatever player they want. Making this deal essentially locks them into a RB at some point likely on Saturday.
