Fox Sports is reporting that popular ESPN commentator and co-host of “Pardon the Interruption” Tony Kornheiser has been suspended following recent on-air remarks he made about co-worker Hannah Storm.

Those remarks were as follows:

No the comments weren't that bad unless taken int the context of todays atmosphere of political correctness. He makes a comment about the "Catholic school dress" and before that Chris Berman needing to lose 50-60 lbs.

With Berman’s contract expiring soon, Deadspin’s take is that “anything that upsets the delicate balance of negotiations by calling one of the parties a fat slob is considered a much more suspension-worthy offense than the Storm comments.”

What ever happened to the 1st Amendment?

The 1st Amendment only applies to government actions meaning he cannot be arrested for his statement, that does not mean that his employer has to tolerate them anymore than you need to tolerate a rude dinner guest that makes an obscene comment towards your wife.

That being said, the guy is an flat out idiot and makes the game less enjoyable, not as bad as Bryant Gumbel though, I'm glad he's suspended.
