however, the problem is that the majority of the mediot talking heads are going to continue to milk every last drop of life out of spygate until they have some other sure-fire headline maker to talk about. right now, this is still the best story in the nfl if it's a bad media day and you have to produce a thousand words on deadline. take a few old, usually discredited, accusations, dress them up, add a little hyperbole and innuendo and you have a story that people will listen to or click on and that will explode into the blogosphere, enhancing the byline of the author.
if you think about it, the only piece of accurate, substantive news to come out since the fines were imposed was Goodell's statement that the pats had been taping for several years. otherwise, everything there was to know was known in September. The rest was Specter's bluster and Walsh's grasp at 15 minutes of fame. that's a pretty sad commentary on the media and the nfl's fans, players and management.
