End of half, Gost let Brady of hook with missed FG

That's a well thought out answer and explanation for BB's brain fart. Thanks. Do you have an answer why a timeout wasn't called ???
Since you asked so nicely , I think I've answered that in other posts in this thread. They were "off" pretty much across the board, from the missed FG to the 15 yarder on a Fair Catch to other things that have been pointed out by others in this thread.

I have no clear explanation for why the Greatest HC in the history of the game had a brain fart on the play you reference. I really don't think we can discount the cross country flight and the disruption of a fairly rigorous routine by the Thanksgiving Holiday, but your guess is as good as mine.

Now, go have a second cup of coffee.

Yeah. Weird game. Sometimes the offense was in rhythm (could have been 40 pts worth of rhythm) and sometimes they were in a Funkedelic state. Play calling, BB, players. Very frustrating to watch.

The D continued to be vanilla but stopped them twice when they needed to at the end. I am beginning to believe that BB wants to see if he can go the regular season playing vanilla D, that they are not facing stellar competition at QB and that they can save any disguises for the playoffs.

I don't know, I'm confused, holiday fat and tired and it's not even December. Fa la la la la, bring on the Rams.

I was screaming at the TV at the time as well for them to take a time out. It made way too much sense.

As the OP noted, this is not the first time they've botched clock management this year specifically when it comes to the use ( or non use) of time outs.

Don't twist my words......I'm not calling for anyone's head. Belichick is still THE coach I'd want coaching my team, but I must admit that it's a little concerning when these types of mistakes happen when historically it's been 'the little things' (like clock management) that give the Pats their true competitive advantage each week.

I, too, think it was a mistake NOT to call a timeout but I think I can still give a somewhat logical answer for not using the time out.........

At the time I think the team may have felt good about them at least having 3 points. I think they were overly cautious about running into a disasterous situation in which they had no time outs and a running clock (let's say a sack happened) or there was a motion infraction on a snap (that cuased a 10 second run off). Teams like to have the time out in the bag for those reasons.

My counterargument to that would be if they used the time out, they would still have enough time to spike the ball if they were sacked or ran a play over the middle of the field.

I don't remember what I was paying attention to, but after Brady threw the incompletion to Mitchell I noticed there was only 6 seconds left and I was like holy crap! Where did the time go?!?!?

"Hook"...I see what you did there.

Yawn.

86 yard drive to win the game but let's talk about this

yes

As belichick has always stated winning the game means you're perfect and there were 0 moments in the game that need be addressed

Probably just gave the players the week off since everything went fine yesterday
