TUESDAY
1) There are some really good players available at S, G, C, and RB. There wasn't much action on these positions today.
2) I think that Robinson is still available.

AS OF TONIGHT
=======
This is very, very good haul (3 from top 50 in addition to Landry)
I include Landry and Hooper from yesterday

SPECIAL TEAMS
1 addition, a veteran OK WR who is a top STer

DEFENSE - WOW
4 starters at DT, OLB, ILB, CB
1 backup - Tonga (to compete with Pharms) It seems likely that Ekuale and Wise will be gone.

OFFENSE - A START
1 starter - RT
3 backups - TE, QB, WR

Cam Robinson is far from perfect, but would be a welcome short term improvement/stop gap, at this point.

Unfortunately to get him he will have to be paid more like a long term solution.

Cam Robinson would be a massive upgrade despite not having the best 2024. See if you can give him a big guarantee for 1 or 2 years then let him hit the market again. As for today, since Godwin didn’t get to market you can’t hold anything against them. They get an A

Can we please, please, PLEASE recognize NOW that the team is willing to spend money? That the people (me included) who said that it takes two sides to make a deal were the ones who had it right?

Yes, we would need to pay a lot. How much is it worth for a competent LT for the next two years? A lot, I think.

I don't think that we need an all-pro LT to be Super Bowl competitive, or to be on track to win half of our games THIS year. We need a competent starter.

Getting Robinson and one of the guards would go far in giving our Offense a chance to succeed.

An excellent first day, especially on defense but there is still a gaping hole on the left side of the OL and I think there is still work to do on the pass rush off the edges. Although the latter can be dealt with in the draft.

I liked the strategy of bolstering the defense day 1

We have upgraded on every level on that side, and have set a good foundation for Maye's rookie years there

Now, if we indeed have 60m+ of cap space yet, then its not enough

even if pay for guys who end up cut, being a disappointment, i hope we continue being aggressive and adding talent throughtout a pretty bare bones roster. I dont think we have 51 NFL ready players

Rookies from the 4th round onwards shouldnt be given a roster spot, they need to show they deserve it

The team is willing to spend money this year. It wasn’t last year. They signed most of their targets nothing 24 and 25, they just targeted different classes of player.

Excellent start. Next up ideally - sign LT (cam)- its an overpay but on a 2 year deal it really wont hurt anything, LG (jenkins or fries), Fs (holland or a sleeper option if theres one)

Draft priorities LT , wr (this could line up great for us if we are willing to get aggressive with pick 38, plenty of combinations at 4(hunter if he slips) or trade down to 9 plus a trade up into the early 20s)

Edge, DL, HB mid rounds - hearing draft is deep at all 3

I hate the idea of giving Cam Robinson significant money, but I’m not sure what choice they have if they are dead set on addressing the position before the draft. He sucked in Minnesota this year, but his numbers aren’t as bad over the past 3 seasons. I sure hope they can get him for a 2-3 year deal, because I sure as hell don’t want him for 4.

I would love either Holland or Reid at FS, that would give them one of the top 3 secondaries in football. Coupled with a much improved pass rush, with the return ( hopefully) of Barmore, and additions of Landry and Williams, this will be a vastly improved defense in 2025.

So many here post hyperbolic comments about Cam Robinson's competence. He is barely adequate as a starting LT and is by no means a "massive" upgrade over their other current options as a pass blocker (21 pressures and 2 sacks in his last two games of 2024) and he'd probably be a downgrade in the run game (he stinks as a run blocker).

If he is asking for a contract that is even close to Dan Moore's (an insane overpay), the Pats should stay far away. The only reason that I would be at all optimistic if they sign him is the fact that Marrone knows him and would have signed off on him.

The team did about as good as we could hope for on day one given the way things played out. Would it have been nice to have gotten Godwin, sure but the player has to be willing to join and in his case I don't think he was inclined to leave without some ridiculous amount of cash. I am all for spending some extra to get a player but keep in mind this team needs a lot at different positions and at the end of the days its Godwin..... not Chase, Jefferson or St. Brown. You have to play the cards your dealt and I think they did great with how things shaked out on day one. They were aggressive and got some good players and clearly the defensive will be improved this year. Its super early but the team is trending in the right direction they are focusing on improving the team and not just a position or two.

Not much left for pass rushers, unless they want to roll the dice on Ojulari or DeMarcus Lawrence.

Competent is being kind. He’s barely that. But they have been shut out there so far so we’ll see what happens? I think they are pretty committed to addressing needs before the draft so they can go BPA, but you can’t always get what you want.

The team needed talent across the roster and I think Vrabel/Wolf did a really good job so far. Milton Williams was probably the #1 free agent, while guys like Landry, Davis, and Moses are good stop-gap players.

At this point, I wouldn't be that disappointed if we didn't land Abdul Carter in the draft. I'm open to drafting Travis Hunter as a WR or taking a shot at Armand Membou. If they decided to trade down and draft Will Campbell as LG, I'm not against it either.

It will be shocking how different 'barely competent' looks compared to last year.

It was a great day. Still some holes to fill but the team as it stands is much improved.
Im thinking they want Hunter badly.
