Without the benefit of going back to see what was posted, a 'glad I was wrong' is minimally decent. Plus considering he is the only one I have seen, yes, it is minimally decent. My memory recalls a whole lot of posters basically saying 'he needs to be in jail', 'he is just like a rapist', 'should be fired immediately' and even someone with the wonderful argument of 'innocent until proven guilty means nothing outside a court of law'. Considering a person's reputation, livelihood and freedom from prison were at stake, those posters ought to be ashamed of themselves. The knee jerk, rush to judgment crowd is part of the reason why innocent people go to jail and this case could have been a shining example of that. Hopefully, if this is a clear case of false charges (an unknown thing at this point), those people should be brought up on charges. However it is probably ideal for the whole thing to be forgotten as thoroughly as possible.

Sexual assault is very serious. How would you like it if someone took the hand of your mother/daughter/wife/etc. on a club dance floor! Our legal system has clearly failed this young lady, who'll likely require years of therapy to get over this incident...

Glad this turned out to be nothing. Despite thinking that at worst this was just a **** move and not a criminal matter, I'd prefer to have as few "that guy"s on the Pats roster as possible.

It did turn out to be nothing........ and sexual assault is no less serious now because he was wrongly accused......

the legal system didn't fail anyone......

and how do yo uknow she wasn't the one who initiated contact?????

I kinda don't blame her for making it known in the bar that night that he pulled that. But, to take it as far as the police the next day is too much.

Edelman does need to comport himself better. I mean, walk by a girl talking to a guy and try to pull her to the dance floor? What's he thinking. Clearly, this pissed her off, and I can see why.

This is how I feel to a tee.

He was being a d-bag but that's not illegal or likely all that rare for an NFL player.

I said from the beginning that if he touched a woman even if it was 'just' her ass (as some knuckle-dragging troglodytes suggested) I wasn't interested in rooting for him anymore - I even stopped wearing his jersey while this was going on.

It was all about reserving judgement either way. I'm glad I did because I'm just a huge fan of the guy and I'm glad he's getting reps somewhere now.

The DA dropped the charges because there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

She may very well be telling the truth. Or he may very well be telling the truth.

All the DA has said is there isn't enought evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he is lying and she is not.
