Effect Of Status Of Wilfork

Totally agree with you. Belichick has shown signs that he loves the guy. Wilfork has shown signs that he loves playing in NE. The only issue is dollars and years...both of which are numbers. If both sides are motivated, numbers tend to get worked out. In addition, I believe Kraft, Belichick and Wilfork are on the same page. Once the rules going forward are clear, Wilfork will be a happy Patriot for the next few years.

That was my one Xmas wish. It will be so.

When has a Patriot player reached free agency and then worked out a deal with the Patriots?

When has a Patriot player reached free agency and then worked out a deal with the Patriots?

When was the last time teams didn't know if there would be a salary cap or not?

My point was that I believe both Wilfork and Belichick know how this story is going to play out. We are just left trying to figure out where they have ended up:

Extension before FA begins = 50%...Just waiting for the rules to be clarified
Franchise, then extend = 25%...In case timing becomes a problem
Franchise, then trade = 20%...Wilfork and Belichick not on the same page on value
Franchise, no extension = 5%...Wilfork would still be pissed, even with 2010 no tag promise
Let him walk = 0%...No doubt he would end up in NJ or South Beach

So I figure there is an 80% chance Wilfork is a Pat in 2010 (75% that he is happy about it).
