Early look at Bengals

Cincy averages 7.5 receptions/game at TE.

Between both starting TEs, they are averaging 85 yards (Gresham is averaging 45.25 YPG and Eifert is averaging 39.75 YPG) and 0 TDs per game. Neither TE from Cincy are setting the world on fire. Eifert had one big play of 61 yards (which skews his overall YPG by quite a bit since he has 159 total yards which means over a third of his yards are on one play) and Gresham's longest play has been 29 yards. So let's not overstate the impact of their TDs by taking one selective stats.

AJ Green is the largest part of the Bengals passing offense by a significant amount. As I stated earlier in the thread, he accounts for 27.7% of the receptions, 29.9% of the receiving yards, and 60% of the receiving TDs.

Oh, so it's just completely uninformed speculation that's based on no actual insight of any kind. Cool. You might as well have put a bunch of numbers in a hat and pulled out "week 8".

If you want churlish, I can get actually churlish. Everything that you've engaged in in this thread has been pessimistic speculation on topic that have already been disproven. When notified that your viewpoint has been proven wrong, you resort to "yeah, I know, but it's just my opinion. What if I'm right?"

In short, you're basically playing the role of the Michael Florio of this discussion. You're contributing nothing and beating the negativity drum for its own sake, and when someone has the nerve to point out that you're arguing points that are provably wrong, you fall back on "it's my opinion" as if your opinion matters, while simultaneously trying to reprimand them for not being nice enough in pointing out that you're wrong.

I don't want to 'start anything' - it's clear that you're an enthusiastic and longtime Pats fan, and most of the time I enjoy your posts. But negative speculation for negative speculation's sake deserves to be called out, and if you throw an assertion out there without any explanation, you really should expect to be challenged on it. It's nothing personal.

Ok -whatever you say. The only thing I am "pessimistic" about is either Gronk or Amendola's return, this week or for a few more. I prefaced everything I said by saying it was my opinion. I'm not sure how that is provably wrong (at least not yet). It is a message board, and I was talking to someone else about a specific subject when you jumped in. I expect the Pats to win this week, but I also expect it will be without Gronk or Amendola. That's all I'm saying. I hope I am wrong; I just don't think I will be.
