The only question that I have is this: Is he apologetic because he got caught, or sincerely upset with himself and his actions?

Man has a wife and kids, and is a role model in sports. He ought to know better than this.

Likely, he apologized because his agent or his union rep thought that it was a good idea.

58 ounces! What a maroon. He's lucky all they did was send him home. Can't wait for the 4 game suspension.

4 game suspension is for failing a drug test

It's even harder than that. The automatic four game ban requires failing four tests while part of the substance abuse intervention program. Since he doesn't appear to be part of the program yet, he'll probably just get moved into it and be subject to more regular drug testing. It's possible he won't even face a one game suspension.

Whatever consequences he faces are going to be nothing next to the anger of wife and kids over cutting short family vacation (though I'm sure his wife knew).

Who cares, he got caught with weed lol not like he was trying to shoot the airport up

On a personal level, I don't care about the weed that much; it's not the 1950s anymore. It's what Herr Goodell is going to do that irritates me, and Harmon should have known better.

Anything more than one game (if he were to get suspended) and its discrimination against him being a Patriot imo

Not sure if you were poking fun at the article on its unit of weigh faux pas. In the event you were not, it appeared to involve 58 grams or 2 ounces. Personal use quantity rather than distribution quantity.

I agree with the maroon comment in bringing anything like that across international lines, regardless of weight.

I don't even smoke weed, but I have no idea why people here are demonizing him for bringing a bit of it on vacation. Jesus.

My sole criticism is that he could've just picked some up in Costa Rica. On my honeymoon cruise, I was offered pot literally as I stepped off the boat in two different ports.

The weed thing is not a huge deal in my opinion. I kind of assume a lot of people smoke it, not just pro athletes. There is a good chance his wife smokes it too. I just wonder what type of team discipline he may face, not to mention discipline from Goodell. But, this does hurt his image as a role model for kids.

Instead of the "this is not who I am" line that is pure BS it would be better to go with "I made a mistake", same effect, just as simple and short and without being a hypocrite.

I misread the amount (how the heck could you hide 58 oz. in an iced tea bottle anyway? ;-)), but the maroon comment stands. You have to be idiotic to take drugs on a plane anywhere these days, particuarly into a foreign country.
