Do you think the Pats should take a WR or OT in R1

For what it is worth, I just heard Breer say some teams only have two Blue Chip top-5 or even top-10 talents in this draft....hint WR and OT arent those positions. If we have a chance to take Hunter or Carter you just have to take them......if they are both gone you just have to go with your board and hope you are right, because you aren't getting the normal talent at 4 you normally would.
If they are both gone that means Ward or Sanders are there and the phone calls start coming in like a telethon.

Or is it '22 when the first QB didn't go off the board until the '20s?

I think I've settled on the very top of my board

1. Carter
2. Travis Hunter
3. Mason Graham
4. Tet McMillan
5. Will Campbell

Scenarios

1. If Carter or Hunter are available at 4, just take them

2. Assuming we've signed a WR1 and LT in FA, then consider a trade down from 4 but only enough to guarantee Graham, Tet or Campbell

3. If we've signed or traded for a quality WR1 (probably only Tee Higgins), I'd move Campbell over Tet. I would still draft Campbell even if we've signed a LT because I prefer him at LG anyway and think he can be long-term leader for the OL.

4. However if we have signed a WR1 and LT, then I would probably just draft Graham.

Based on your rationale shouldn't Tet be 5?

That would be my board before any FA signings. signing Tee Higgins for example would elevate Campbell over McMillan.

I hold out hope for him, some rookie mistakes yes, but some of the later drafts are showing promise. Vrabel must see something in him.
I think Kraft sees something in Wolf and Vrabel is going along for a short period of time. Kraft also saw something in Mayo and Glaser. Kraft has lost his fast ball.

Kraft just wants to be beloved. Some will take advantage when they see an opening.

I might be in the minority, I don't think he ever had a fastball, other than hiring Bill and then staying out of his way, for the most part.

You might be right because Kraft first hired P Carroll and had to fire him to hire BB. Kraft might have been banging around until he found the right coach.

Possible. I think the Apple Doc painted him as really ready to launch Bill if they didn't win with Brady. I don't think he's knows nearly as much as he wants us to think he knows. I think he gets the business of the NFL better than all of us, which is why he bent the knee, but as far as X's and O's, locker room and daily ops of football goes, he's more fan than anything else IMO.

He's a fan with an assumption of football knowledge. If he were on this board, I'd have him on ignore because he'd be talking about the wrong thing most of the time.

There'd be a healthy amount of Dude, what are you talking about?

What about a Wide Tackle? Can we just get a wide-ass tackle that at least slows down a rush due to their sheer wideness?

There is nothing to suggest Kraft understands football. There is often a correlation between a successful team and a money making operation, the latter with which Kraft is familiar, but that's about as far as it goes.

I've made the comparison before, but if you've seen the movie Foxcatcher, that's what that whole relationship is between an owner and a sports team. Luckily, Kraft isn't as insane as John DuPont.

There is someone like that. The 6'8", 344 lb LT from Rutgers called Hollin Pierce. It takes about 24 hours to run around him. Of course, at that size, that's about how long it takes him to get to the 2nd level.

To be fair to him, he's actually a pretty good blocker when dropping back in a true pass set, my concern is how slow he is when moving in space.

Can we invent a redzone only LT position so he doesn't have to run far?
