The Pats have found some offensive gems during day 3 of recent drafts:

- TE Aaron Hernandez in the 4th round (a great pick at the time, notwithstanding what has happened)
- WR Julian Edelman in the 7th round
- WR Josh Boyce in the 4th round (incomplete grade, but promising)
- OL Marcus Cannon in the 5th round

The Pats currently have a 4th round, 2 6th round and 7th round picks going into the 2014 drafts, and are projected to get 2 6th round comp picks. That's 7 day 3 picks, not including any generated by BB trading back. This is a very deep draft, and there will be tons of talent falling to day 3.

Here's a game: pick up to 5 players currently projected to go day 3 who you think could become major contributors to the Pats' offense.

My picks:

1. OL Billy Turner, North Dakota St., 4th round (currently NFL DraftScout #100)
2. OC Bryan Stork, Florida St., 4th round (currently NFL DraftScout #111)
3. FB/H-Back Trey Millard, Oklahoma, 6th-7th round (currently NFL DraftScout #239)
4. WR Cody Hoffman, BYU, 5th-6th round (currently NFL DraftScout #171)
5. TE Richard Rodgers, Cal, 4th round or later (currently NFL DraftScout #213)

Why day 3? Is there a reason why defense gets day one and two and offense only day 3? I don't have a problem with your thought experiment, just curious as to why the rules are different.

But here's mine:

RB Devonta Freeman
OL Billy Turner
TE Richard Rodgers
TE CJ Fiedorowicz
WR Devin Street

Out of those I'd like Stork if needed and Millard for sure, great weapon

If Freeman falls to day 3, he's on my list as well.

Would absolutely love Freeman

I just went by the latest CBS ranking and he's at 101.

Good call.

Revising my list, Freeman, Turner and Millard would be sure bets. I'd have to bump one of Stork, Hoffman or Rodgers. Tough call.

How bout Franklin Quiteh - RB - Bloomsburg University - Harlon Hill Winner best D-II player? 8 miles up the road from my house. Love the way they play. Power-I te and run the ball down your throat. Won't work in the NFL. But, it's a nice change of pace from the NFL and big-school football.

Quincy enunwa wr Nebraska
Rajion Neal rb Tennessee
Cody latimer wr indiana
Ted bolser te indiana
Wesley johnson ot vandy
Gator hoskins marshall te fb

Albert Wilson wr/kr Georgia State Height: 5-09 Weight: 206

At GSU they used him as wr/kr/rb and with his stocky build he could be a low cost julian edelman/shane vereen backup.

Really I'm just a longtime pats fan/draft board lurker that would love to have patriot connection to my alma mater GSU even if it's a UDFA tryout.

WR - Moncrief, Hoffman, Gallon and Alex Amidon
RB - Marion Grice and Deanthony Thomas
TE - Rob Blanchflower and Colt Lyerla
OT - James Hurst, leg break in last game of season made him slide, we could pick up a very talented guy late and just stash him until he recovers
FB - Gator Hoskins

My Personal Favorite Day 3 Pick for BB at Every Offensive Position:
QB: Aaron Murray, UGA, R 4-6
RB: De'Anthony Thomas, Oregon, R 3-6
FB: Trey Millard, Oklahoma, R 5-7
WR: Jeremy Gallon, Michigan, R 5-7
TE: Arthur Lynch, UGA, R 4-6
OT: Billy Turner, NDS, R 3-4
OG: John Urschel, PSU, R 6-7
C: Bryan Stork, FSU, R 3-4

I don't know about you guys but this "team" already looks a hell of a lot better than the garbage Johnson&Johnson, Rex Ryan, and crew puts out in Jersey, all steals, all fit Pats well, and wouldn't mind selecting a few of these guys in later rounds and with comp picks
