That is the question. I doubt anyone thinks if he does make it that it will be quickly but will he get in sooner or later?

Career numbers with the Pats in 8 years.

46 sacks, 12 FF, 24 PD. More than his stats though were the amount of snaps he played which was the most in the league for any front 7 player I think at least 2 years and maybe more. I would need to check on that to be sure. Also one other thing which doesn't show up in his stellar run defense. He was one of the best run blocking DEs in the NFL for a time really knew how to set the edge.

I think in 10 years he will gain serious consideration. There is a bit of a back log of greats but I think he will be seriously discussed at some point in the future and make it.

Not before Seymour .................

Not before Seymour, Connolly, Mankins

Connolly? Serious?

That means Light, Neal, Vollmer, Koppen, Andruzzi get in before him as they were better

He deserves consideration no question.

As you say the line to get in is long and he's in the back.

Well here is my thoughts besides the back log for current Patriots that will retire soon-ish Edelman, Brady, McCourty , Solder, Hightower will all likely get in before Nink and more players will be added as time goes on as well so it could be 15 years but I think he makes it in.

He does but it will take a while. He is behind:

Seymour
Harrison
Vrabel
Light
Mankins
Welker
Wilfork

And then once they retire

Brady
Gronk
Edelman
Vinatieri

Hell yeah!

I believe he has done enough to be considered in ten or so years! Sad to see the guy go.

Has it been renamed the Patriots Hall of Good?

Sorry, but I doubt it. He didn't have enough big moments, especially in the playoffs, and will be an afterthought in 10 years.

I disagree. He didn't have enough big moments?

Sack against Wilson which gave Brady ball back to come from behind in SB. Interception against Manning in 2014. Big play in OT against the Jets. Led the NFL in fumble recoveries during his playing days.

Ninkovich wasn't an all pro talent, but he did show up when it mattered. He was the opposite of Chandler Jones. Most of us won't forget him, just like we haven't forgot Vrabel and other former greats

Very interesting case given he never was a Pro Bowl/All-Pro level of talent.

I've always looked at individual team HOFs in a different way than Canton. If looking at it in a similar way, than no, Nink would absolutely not belong in any HOF.

But..I think a team HOF has variables that go beyond outstanding play. Longevity, leadership, etc are the emphasis, rather than simply accolades that are measured league-wide in the form of Pro Bowls/All-Pro selections.

No. These players are ahead of him, off the top of my head.
Brady
Edelman
Welker
Moss
Light
Solder
Mankins
Seymour
Warren
Wilfork
Hightower
Vrabel
Harrison
Butler
McCourty
Vinatieri
Ghost
Milloy
BB

Others that are in the same ballpark
Woody
Andruzzi
Volmer
Francis
Gray
Blount
White (projecting)
Chandler jones ( better but not as long)
Veris
Adams
Hamilton
Vincent brown
Slade
Lippet
Fox
James
Chung
McDaniel
Weiss
Dante
Crenell
Patricia

I'm sure I missed others but the list is way too long.

I'm not sure what the precedent is, but imo the short tenured players shouldn't be considered.

Doubtful, most teams he probably gets in but we've had too many great players cycled through.

Was Vrabel really that much better than Ninkovich............. I don't think so.

Here are the stats which are very comparable.
Vrabel 2001-2008, 8 years, 47 sacks, 604 tackles, 14 Forced Fumbles, 5 Fumble Recoveries, 11 interceptions
Ninkovich, 2009-2016, 8 years (7 on defense), 46 sacks, 460 tackles, 10 Forced Fumbles, incredible 14 Fumble Recoveries, 5 interceptions

And I believe the intangibles favor Ninkovich, Ninkovich is more of a team leader in the same mold as Bruschi. Vrabel near the end was whining about his contract, and saying "There's a Place for more pay" when Kraft was building Patriot Place, and hence was shipped off to KC in the Cassell trade when they probably didn't even ask for him. On the other hand we held a special presser for Ninkovich's retirement and got glowing praise from BB.

For me Nink gets in before Vrabel.

Interesting Mayo makes no one's list....interesting IMO because his body of work is very similar if not slightly more impressive than Ninkovich's
Mayo ....8 year starter / tackling machine / 2 Probowls /1 All-Pro / 1 Ring / 2 SBs / team captain

You think Ninkovich's contributions to the Pats to date is in the same ballpark as Blount and White and less than Moss, Malcolm Butler, Nate Solder and Ty Warren.............. come on............. get real.
