Ya know, as a pass breakup that would have been a pretty good play.

As an INT, it's amazing. Every bit of his anticipation was needed to make that into an INT.

No lie.

Coach Carroll's Call was perfect.

We were locked and loaded for Lynch.

If we didn't happen to have NFD ~ NostraPhuckinDamus, for those scoring at Home ~ On Line for The Greatest Play In The History of FootBall, The Greatest Dynasty Ever would now be 3-3 in Super Bowls.

...And there'd actually be legitimate debate as to whether it was The Greatest Dynasty Ever.

There is so much to love about that interception.

One of them is how utterly owned Lockette was on that play.

Thrown through the air, his pass picked off and he even lands with his back to it all. You can tell he's just kneeling there, bewildered and asking "What just happened? What's going on?"

Best yet is a befuddled Wilson going up to Petey saying, "What happened?"

Petey, "He jumped the route"

Fokkin A he did!

B, C & D too!

Right???

And it's not as if these were the Spotsylvania Spuds we beat.

These were ~ were ~ the Ascending SuperStars of the 21st Century, who'd just authored ~ to our general Amusement and Pleasure ~ the most dominant Super Bowl Victory in History*, a Year ago.

*Allowing for Salary Cap Points, which takes into account the fact the the greatest previous Defenestration, 55-10 in 1989 by the San FranCisco Miners over ~ who? oh, yes: The BRONCOS ~ was perpetrated in the Pre Salary Cap Era, when Hoarding Was Legal. In 1989 Dollars, the SeaBugs won 126-10, last Year.

...And LOST ~ what??? ~ 28-24, THIS Year.

So Let It Be Written.

So Let It Be Done.

GOD, I love this Thread.

Wouldn't it be AWESOME, though???

If we were...oh, I don't know...

US???

Oh...

WAIT a moment...

We ARE us!!!

Lockette's got about 10 Inches and 600 Pounds on Butler, yet Butler casually blasts'm with such seismic Power and explosive Ferocity with'is freaking Back Shoulder as he's ~ Oh By The Way ~ in the act of perpetrating The Greatest Play In The History of Everything, that Lockette simply disappears.

Admit it,you're trolling for fancrushes!

Right???
David beat Goliath, but at least Goliath was able to dust'mself off and claim that it was close.

At least Goliath could say "Hey...I had all of'is Attention when I was beaten by a Worthy Adversary."

Lockette??? Not so much.

Butler annihilated him.

He destroyed him.

He obliterated him.

And Butler wasn't even aware that Lockette existed.

Lockette
...was incidental.

At that Moment, there was nobody in the World.

Just Malcolm Butler...and his FootBall.

"I am Malcolm Butler...and I have a right to the FootBall!!!"

Apparently your Bible has a kinder version of the Old Testament than the one I'm familiar with.

j/k, point taken.

Yeah, I had a pretty good notion that I may've been estimating Goliath's Post-Battle Condition...

In fact: I actually thought about looking it up...

But then I figured...What The Hell??

On a related topic: Lawrence Taylor would pay for hookers to visit opposing players the night before so they would be worn out when he faced them on game day.

Would not be suprized if somebody is still doing this.

And with this thread, OTG finally breaks the internet.

Heh. The only thing close about it was the shave Goliath got when David cut his head off with his own sword.
