Do you wish our schedule was tougher?

If Brady didn't become the goat, then maybe. But that 01 team is a lot better in hindsight than it was given credit for at the time. Imo.
They had a great D.

I do wonder how they would have fared against the Rams in the SB with the new rules we see today.

NO I Dont. its not like we pick and choose who we play. Football is very cyclical as we kow. Play the team in front of us. None of these automatic or guaranteed wins or losses

Glass is always half full here
Brutal schedule in 2026...

Out of curiosity, I looked up next year's opponents.

HOME
  • Buffalo Bills - Contender
  • Green Bay Packers - Contender
  • Denver Broncos - Probably Good
  • Minnesota Vikings - Who knows?
  • Las Vegas Raiders - Should still suck
  • Miami Dolphins - Should still suck
  • New York Jets - Should still suck
  • AFC North Opponent to be Determined - Probably Pittsburgh or Cin
AWAY
  • Buffalo Bills - Contender
  • Detroit Lions- Contender
  • Kansas City Chiefs - Contender
  • Los Angeles Chargers - Who knows?
  • Chicago Bears - Who knows?
  • Miami Dolphins - Should still suck
  • New York Jets - Should still suck
  • AFC South Opponent to be Determined - Probably Ind or Jax
  • NFC West Opponent to be Determined - Could be anyone but Arizona
Pretty tough. Thank goodness for the Jets and Dolphins.

Maye is playing like a top 3 QB right now.
Let's just say he is a top 5 QB next year. As long as we don't have devastating injuries, we will not go 6-11.
Top 5 QBs do not go 6-11, no matter who they play.
And...we are speculating how good all those teams will be next year based on where they are today. Things can change quick, Couple of those "contenders" could very well end up pretenders.
Again, assuming Maye is top 5 QB next year and we aren't bit hard by the injury bug, there is no chance we are only winning 6 games next year.

When I was young I wanted the Patriots to have the easiest possible route to victory. If I could have I'd have had us playing each playoff round against a team of blinded monkeys. But as I've gotten older I appreciate that a team has to be tested at different points in their season to really show that they're special enough to win a title.

Watching some Blue Jays games this year I saw them fight through adversity and thought they could be special, and tonight we'll find out if I was right. But I feel a Hell of a lot better as a fan going in to Game 7 knowing we've been tested before. So, I'm wondering what each of you thinks about our level of competition.
If this is about the Patriots, then the answer is-NO!!!
If this is about baseball, I stopped caring 30 years ago.

Buffalo 4 - 2, combined record of the 4 teams they beat 3 - 24

Patriots 5 - 2, combined record of the teams they beat 11 - 23

Strength of schedule is completely overblown, the league is rife with tomato cans and no team faces a gauntlet every Sunday. Bad is relative, bad teams beat good teams every week. Time and injury will separate good from bad.

You just have to win the division, and Buffalo will have an almost equally tough schedule.

Broncos at home? Nix vs Maye? All Day Maye there, if on the road different story since Denver so tough with the environment but that's not as hard a game as it looks.

I think they could sweep the home games next year.

It's the road games that are tough next year. Having that schedule this year would have been rough, but a whole year into McDaniels system for Maye probably will mean 30 points a game or more on average, which puts you in every game.

The caveat is we have no idea what any of these teams full rosters will look like or what impact draft and free agency has.
