Do you take Adam Gase and this Dolphins team seriously, considering what they've accomplished?

After starting the season 1-4, the Dolphins have won 9 out of the last 10 games to clinch a playoff spot

Their record against teams with winning records is 1-4 and their current point differential is +4, meaning that the majority of their games have been won only by slim margins.

I know that may not sound impressive, but they've been tough enough to pull out close games and are riding a wave of momentum -- despite injuries and losing their QB.

I feel confident facing this team, but I want to show respect to what Adam Gase has done to put the Dolphins back in the right direction. He'll likely be considered for 'Coach of The Year' honors. Sunday will be his first time facing Tom Brady at the season finale, and he's gonna want to make a statement to the fans and his team.

I expect the Patriots to be in full control of this game, but I won't be surprised if they give us trouble on Sunday. Who knows? ....the Fins may even get a chance to meet us in the playoffs as the #6 seed.

Hopefully, each team gives their best effort and makes this game worthwhile for fans to watch! Go PATS!!!!

The fact is....Adam Gase has helped Miami do a turnaround, and will likely be considered for Coach of The Year Honor. Sunday will be his first time facing Tom Brady at the season finale, and he's gonna want to make a statement to the fans and his team.

I expect the Patriots to be in full control of this game (despite losing the last 3 games in Miami since 2013) ....but I won't be surprised if they give us trouble on Sunday. Who knows? ....The Fins may even get a chance to meet us in the playoffs as the #6 seed....and as know, divisional opponents can be loads of trouble

Pats fans over react????? I'm shocked. By now it should be quite clear, that Pats fans will underestimate EVERY team in the league, except those very few who have had even minimum success against them. Those teams they will OVERestimate.

BOTH cases are ridiculous since what a team has done in the past (good or bad) has no meaning, especially at this time in the season. Just look at the how the Pats had to come from behind in the 4th quarter to beat the Jets in the middle of the season and crushed them at the end. A more painful example is the 2010 season (which I'm sure I don't have to explain).

All the playoff teams can beat the Pats if they don't play at their best. It's as simple as that. At the same time, this team is good enough that they SHOULD win, but that surely is no guarantee. There are too many great individual plays that can happen, not to mention the bad calls, injuries and bounces that will inevidably occur. The key is to respect EVERYONE and fear NO ONE.....and then hope for the best.

I will say this. Going into the playoffs, I like this team better than I did the 2011 and 2014 ones.

It doesn't really matter what the Pats fans think as long as BB, his coaches and players don't underestimate any team and I'm pretty sure they won't.

This Miami team is rapidly improving. They may not yet have their QB to lead them to be great, but they have a lot of pieces in place. And Gase appears to be an excellent coach. They are not there, but winning a game in the playoffs is not out of the question.

They have one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. If we exploit that we can put up 30

Thank you. Well said. That's basically all I wanted to emphasize @patfanken Gase is doing a respectable job rebuilding this Dolphins team and moving it in the right direction. I look forward to see what wrinkles he has in his gameplan, and how he approaches the postseason.

I was pretty afraid of them until I saw a tweet a few minutes ago pointing out that during their 9-1 run in the last 10 games, the only winning team they've played (@BAL) was a 6-38 loss. I think we pull a close win in Miami but they'll make it close (not us).

No I think there's a good chance they lose in Miami. I just don't think it matters much since Carr broke his leg and playing in Oakland got a lot less scary. Definitely not worried about Miami if we saw them in the playoffs.

OP your asking 2 different questions and looking for confirmation to an all but obvious statement.

Yes the Dolphins are playing better. Rather obvious by their overall play.

Should we fear them? Underestimate them? Is an entirely different question.

You play the fence and give a cliche answer like "On any given Sunday".

Or just answer the question like I did.

Yes Miami could beat us on their best and an average day from us.

KC and Pitt are much bigger threats.

So no one is underestimating Miami.

No worries. I'll rename the thread to clarify what I'm saying

You probably were referring to this tweet here:

I expect the Patriots to come out very vanilla and not want to show the Dolphins anything too exotic.
My guess is Belichick will play cautious in case we see them in the playoffs.
So I expect alot of headcsratching calls on offense.
And alot of soft coverage little to no blitz on defense.
If we win its going to be because we play mistake free football.
Not that we catch them off guard.
Belichick will hold his tricks back.

Credit to Gase for keeping his team focused down the stretch, especially after losing Tannehill (though Moore is not necessarily a downgrade) - they deserve to be in the postseason. If he can keep them focused through the offseason and next year and keep building they could become a good team.

Beyond that, they don't scare me. Jimmy G dropped 21 points on them in like one quarter. I'm good.

The team? Yes.

Tannehill or whatever QB they throw out there? No.

My biggest concern...

...is this kind of sh#t.

They are a few coinflip situations away from being 5-10.. so I take them as serious as the Texans. Only chance for them is going 2+ in turnovers..

I take them seriously in that they are an improving team that has a good record & has had a solid season by their standards.

I do not take them seriously as a playoff team - other than "they won the right to make the playoffs". I would be very surprised & impressed if Miami goes beyond the first round (unless they beat the Texans).

Nah, we roll over the Dolphins every time we play them Brady has thrown like 8 billion TDs and 0 INTs in Miami I'm sure Bill is gonna give the entire team the week off
