Where do people see a trade up at only 13?

The 2 first round picks can be traded up as high as 11

Hate to burst anyone's pipe dream but even BB doesn't know what he's going to do until the draft actually plays out and the phones start ringing.

That being said, he's already set precedence by trading picks like water. If there is a team that covets a player and wants to move up they know BB will do it if the price is right.

Unless there is a player that BB really really really wants, he'll trade down.

Let the draft games begin !

Belichick has a very good idea what he is going to do. Most of the most likely trade scenarios for the Pats have already been discussed with other teams. Belichick never goes into the draft unprepared. When the Pats traded down for Mayo, the Pats already had most of the parameters of the trade with the Saints worked out before the draft even began.

Here's what will happen........The Pats will trade 27th pick to move DOWN to get picks for next year's draft.
The Pats will select some guy none of the so called experts have ever heard of....OR a guy that is predicted to go in the 6th round....but BB takes him at 31. This will lead to all of the analysts/draft gurus scrambling to find some tape on the guy and figure out what the (#%* is going on!!!
Don't expect any flashy moves.....even if Trent Richardson is STILL on the board at 24....or another flashy, explosive offensive weapon is on the board at 27.....BB will NOT be taking him and will be trading the pick and moving down the board......just the way it goes around here!!!

Heh -- what's great about this is it reads a little like satire but I'd bet it's actually pretty accurate. (Kiper's stunned reaction after the Mankins pick is my all time favorite).

By the way, funny how so many players' stock skyrockets after reports surface that the Pats are in love with them -- Barron, McClellin, Ch. Jones. Genius. Pure, evil genius.

I have my doubts about Chandler Jones. When did the "Patriots like....." stories start becoming believeable?

When Michael Felger's sources correctly informed him the Pats were going to take Brandon Meriweather, Michael Holley's sources told him the Pats planned to trade down (hopefully into the teens) to draft Jerod Mayo, and when Scott Zolak's sources told him the Pats were going to take Nate Solder last year. It is a misnomer that the Pats' have never shown their hand in the first round of the draft.

It is a misnomer that the Pats' have never shown their hand in the first round of the draft.

But for every report about NEs draft intentions that is right, there are about 4 or 5 in the same year that are completely wrong.
